The birth of the Actually 8th signature carrier bags was one that involved much fun and love from Actually’s friends and customers. To start off, Actually launched an open-entry design competition for the bags last November. From six shortlisted artworks, the Facebook community voted for the design that they reckoned would best represent the identity of Actually. The four winning designs by Shannon Tan, Asri Scola, Rachel Han and Denise Xu scored the highest votes.
These exclusive carrier bags do not come with a price tag, fortunately or unfortunately. They will only be given out with any purchase in Actually’s retail stores at 29A Seah Street and 16 Purvis Street #02-01 respectively.
‘Raven’ by Shannon Tan
“Making art out of lines is what I specialize in, as you can see from some of my work. My dream is to fuse art and business and make it thrive in Singapore.”
‘Think Outside the Box’ by Asri Scola
Asri’s versatile progressive works depend heavily on the usage of contrasted colors, interspersed with distinct streamlined movement. Energy level and unpredictable state of mind sets the direction, indulging in the thought-process. Unimpeded by orthodox or conventional constraints, the process looks beyond to not think of the obvious things.
‘Chromaticity’ by Rachel Han
A multitude of colors that form the retro TV color signs, the various shapes and colors complement each other to form a combination of chromatic nostalgia of the past.
‘I am An Owl’ by Delvenise
We’ll sleep when we’re dead, but for now, we live like owls.
