Launched in 2012 – Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar is a spacious and welcoming destination where one can feel right at home having a brunch with the family or savour many glasses of beer on tap after work with friends.
Taking centre stage is an enormous counter that seats up to 20 inspired by what one might find in a medieval tavern but given a generous contemporary twist with the use of black marble. In a bid to encourage a convivial environment, customers are welcome to share dining space and mingle at this communal table as well as tap their own beers upon ordering. They can also opt to enjoy the bistro’s mouth-watering menu on one of the numerous large tables that have been converted from refurbished bar tops.
The small alfresco dining space of Nassim Hill is also dog-friendly, so families with pets are welcome to enjoy their meal together with their canines.
“Nassim Hill is founded on the philosophy of creating a place for people to relax and gather with family and friends over good food and a range of drinks to suit everyone. I love an aged whisky but also enjoy a glass of apple cider which we have on tap. Our passion for creating food that is casual yet innovative is extended to the new dinner menu that we have recently launched. Like the hearty portions we offer in our hot breakfasts, signature sandwiches and mouthwatering sweets, our dinner specials retain a uniqueness that our diners seek. It’s important that we always connect with our customers and offer them dishes for which they would return. Our downtown location at the Tanglin Post Office makes Nassim Hill Bistro Bar easily accessible but without the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road,” says Mr Samuel Yeo, Director, Imaginings Group, of which Nassim Hill Bistro Bar is a part.
Late Night Hours
With its late hours from 8am to 11pm, Nassim Hill offers its signature cuisine for late night dinner as well as lunch. With a large dinner menu, late night bar bites and very comprehensive drinks menu, Nassim Hill, nestled in the Tanglin Post Office building, brings new energy and excitement to the downtown dining and bar scene.
Nassim Hill is transformed into a warm and glowing ambiance as the day lights dim and the evening lights come on. With its extensive drinks list that includes a variety of beers on tap, wines, whiskies, boutique malts, champagnes, spirits, liquors and cocktails, Nassim Hill becomes the perfect spot for the ultimate pairing between great cuisine and drinks. It is both a restaurant with comprehensive bar offerings and a bar with a complete full service restaurant. Nassim Hill transitions seamlessly from restaurant to bar, ensuring that its customers enjoy a holistic food and drink experience in one place.
The place for delicious tipples – Longest Happy Hour in town
Along with Nassim Hill’s extended opening hours comes the longest Happy Hour offered by any bar in town. From 9am to 9pm everyday, except Mondays (closed), enjoy 1-for-1 draught beer, and house pours ranging from SGD8 to SGD12 per drink.
Non-stop Prosecco for Ladies Night
Better known as a brunch café, Nassim Hill is looking to change people’s perception of the place – and what better place to start than from the ladies? On Wednesday nights after 4pm, ladies enjoy non-stop complimentary glasses of Prosecco with a minimum spend of only $35 each. Enjoy the food, atmosphere and drink all you want – how’s that for a girl’s night out. Terms and conditions apply.
Freshly Baked Bread and Guinness Bread
As soon as customers step in, they will be beckoned by an intoxicating aroma of daily-baked fresh artisanal breads and pastries. The hearty Stout Bread (SGD8 per 1⁄2 loaf) is truly a unique creation that the bakery offers. The stout is full-bodied and marries perfectly with hearty wholemeal bread. This dark bread carries the stout’s distinctive caramel aftertaste while maintaining lightness in texture. You won’t be able to stop at just one slice! The bread’s malty flavour also makes it the perfect choice for Nassim Hill’s signature Hot Reuben ($18) – a veritable crowd-pleaser of emmental cheese that is perfectly melded with corned beef, sauerkraut and onions over the Stout bread.
The menu – well-loved favourites
Serving as delectable accompaniments to the beer is a range of casual bistro eats. The bakery’s egg omelettes and scrambled eggs are said to be the fluffiest around with each using 4 antibiotic and hormone free eggs. Notably, the egg white soufflé and sautéed spinach omelette is a popular choice among those who are more health conscious. Other popular dishes on the menu include hearty sandwiches made with homemade artisanal breads and the much talked about salads. Salads are reasonable priced with generous portions and packed with a multitude of flavourful ingredients including the Detox salad featuring organic red quinoa (SGD15) and the Asian Chicken salad (SGD15) with a soy ginger dressing.
For those with a spicier palette, the Chili Crab Pasta (SGD25) or the Spicy Eggs Benedict (SGD20) using Spanish chorizo over spicy guacamole provides a unique twist on the classic Eggs Benedict. Nassim Hill Bakery also boasts one of
the best waffles in town with its Belgian styled waffles being very light and crisp. Their cheddar and bacon waffles have mature cheddar cheese and bacon baked into each and these are served with a fresh chive and sour cream dip.
For desserts, be tempted by sweet treats like the decadent Brownie Parfait (SGD10) with caramelized corn flakes, roasted peanuts and salted caramel sauce over vanilla ice-cream and super chewy brownies or the Pear Cheddar Crumble (SGD9) with
a pear compote and a unique cheddar based crumble.
The Dinner Menu, 4 pm to 11 pm
Nassim Hill recently introduced several new dishes to their dinner menu that complement their extensive brunch and lunch menus. The dinner menu offers exceptional food with outstanding value. A new wine menu with good value wines has also been launched to pair up with the new dinner menu. The star of the dinner menu is the supreme house special of Nassim Hill, the 500g Grain Fed Angus T-bone Steak ($65). The succulent steak is grilled and served with arugula and sea salt, offering diners exceptional value for such a good quality and size of meat. Another is the Pork Chop with Caramelized Carrots (SGD22), grilled pork chop with romesco sauce made with pistachios and hazelnuts.
Other seafood options include the Chilean Sea Bass (SGD30), a cod with sweet potato mash, grilled asparagus with bery velouté, and Market Fresh Mussesls With A Hint of Chilli (SGD25), 250g of live French Bouchot mussels cooked with white wine, Sriracha butter cilantro and garlic. The dinner menu also includes a range of casual light bites that are very reasonably priced. The crunchy Crunchy Chicken Morsels (SGD12) served with Sriracha aioli and fresh baby radish and the Baked Bone Marrow (SGD12) both complement Nassim Hill’s extensive drinks menu – including beer on taps (Kronenbourg 1664, Kronenbourg Blanc and Connor’s Stout).
