Born in 80’s and raised in NYC, Nick Georgiou works have been exhibited Black Rat Press, Andipa Modern galleries in London, the recent solo exhibition in Tucson as well as several shows has been seen in the New York area. Georgiou creates meticulously hand-stitched newsprint sculpture, which he integrates into the urban environment. Paper scraps from books and newspapers to creative beautiful portraits and sculptures.
My art is inspired by the death of the printed word. Books and newspapers are becoming artifacts of the 21st century. As a society we’re shifting away from print consumption and heading straight towards full digital lives. My sculptures are products of their environment —both literally and figuratively. As often as I can, I use local newspapers to add authenticity, and the form the sculpture takes is a reflection of the personal connection I feel to that particular city.

So the speculation are true, if you’ve been following closely along with Nikon, you probably know that after the recent leak information about the Nikon D4, rumors has been flooding all over on the internet suggesting that Nikon has a new full-frame sensor camera body which is set to launch soon. Today, officially from Nikon we would be expecting a brand new Nikon D4, equipped with a new full-frame FX-format sensor, video capture capibility also has jumped from 720/24p to 1080/30p, added with greater precision, this camera has 91k-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix Meter III, compared to a 1,005-pixel meter in the D3S, which so would cost you a whopping of USD $5,999.95 price tag which hits the stores in late February.
The 921k-dot 3.2-inch LCD, which offers a 170-degree viewing angle and ambient light sensor, HD video can be previewed on the display as well, or directly through HDMI port, which also support uncompressed 8-bit video preview output with optional overlay. This hot shot can power on and be ready to shoot in approximately 0.012 seconds, and capture 10 fps stills at full resolution with full autofocus and exposure. A 51-point AF system offers a full cross-type focusing which is compatible with all Nikon lense, also made available to the camera is a two card slots with support for both UDMA-7 CF and the newly announced XQD format (write speeds of up to 125 MB/s).

It has been a strong start for all sneaker company this year, coming abroad in ushering the legendary year, Nike introduces the ‘Year of the Dragon’ collection. In which feature four shoes such as the Air Jordan 2012, Kobe VII System Supreme, Zoom KD IV and the classical Air Force 1 Low Supreme.
AIR FORCE 1 is irreplaceable for Nike and the fans. Inspired by dragon robe, the design team renewed its glory with AIR FORCE 1 LOW SUPREME. The cloud-and-dragon pattern on the tongue, plus dragon design on the black silk texture of the sides and upper, evokes memories of royalty in China. The cloud-and-bat pattern on the sole is another derivative from dragon robe, which in Chinese culture implies good fortune. The appeal consummates with the Chinese character ‘Long’ (dragon) on the counter, the suede panel on the midsole, and the wax-finished shoelaces.
Chinese believe that dragon is a holy being, way above the mundane world. In the arena of basketball, Michael Jordan may be the only equivalent to that transcendence. As the largest single-digit number, 9 is appreciated as a sign of utmost power and achievements. Only emperors can wear robes with 9 dragons. A 9-dragon wall was exclusive for the royal family. 9 is also the lucky number for Michael Jordan. In his 9th season between 1992 and 93, Michael set personal and association record. Inspired by this mystical connection, the Jordan Brand design team, retouched AIR JORDAN 2012 for the new collection. The theme color of blue, in contrast with the yellow inner lining, underpins the message of supremacy, accentuated by the dragon pattern around JORDAN Logo on the tongue. The effect reaches its apex in the limited edition packaging, where red background is decorated with golden dragon and JORDAN Logo, bursting with Chinese features. Two cushions and three midsoles are available, offering functional and aesthetic benefits.
Kobe Bryant appreciates Chinese culture, in particular Chinese Kung Fu. The quest for agility and speed has been integrated into his own athletic art. Drawing inspiration from Kobe’s Italian root and Kung Fu movies filmed in that country, the design team rendered NIKE KOBE VII SYSTEM SUPREME with the signature tri-color of Italy. NIKE KOBE VII SYSTEM SUPREME comes with a cushion printed with Kobe’s exclusive golden Logo, a statement of invincibility. The matrix design on the upper is a special code, spelling the message for Kobe. With his signature and an animated dragon pattern on the counter, this design is impeccable for the Chinese new year.
Kevin Durant was born in a year of the dragon, and he does demonstrate dragon-like power in the court. As 2012 is the year of water dragon, the Nike Basketball design team incorporates an array of watery elements into NIKE ZOOM KD IV. The signature strap, in combination with the wave pattern on the tongue and the laser-etched blue shadows, creates a rippling effect. The water dragon surrounding the KD logo on the counter highlights oriental association. The whole piece is dominated by light blue and light mango, symbolic of Thunder. NIKE ZOOM KD IV adopts new Adaptive Fit system to deliver the perfect fit.
In addition to the four footwear styles, the Nike DESTROYER JACKET will hit the street at the same time. Also inspired by dragon robe, it features woolen texture with black suede sleeves. The dragon theme is illustrated through the lining, plus dragon claws embroidered both in the lining and the back, set alive by the cloud-and-bat design. The DESTROYER JACKET will be available alone or along with the Nike AIR FORCE 1 LOW SUPREME, both in the limited edition packaging.

I am not exactly the tall and skinny sort and I know the rule of thumb states that if you want to look slim, go for vertical stripes while horizontal stripes beefs you up but I am really a sucker for horizontal stripes and I am really digging the latest release from Flesh Imp.
Instead of the common black-on-white striped patterned, Flesh Imp now introduces navy blue and Fire-engine red stripes to brighten up your look. Comes in both Tees and Raglan, starting from SGD29.00.

The Optrix HD is a sport case that transforms your iPhone 4S/4/iPod into an HD action sports camera. If you already own an iPhone and want to record your adventures moment on a another new level, this is probably a good solution and considering it cost half the price ($89.90 USD) of a Go Pro HD camera. The Optrix HD which has some notable features, such as ultrasonic welds and silicon gaskets, making it waterproof (rated to a depth of 1 foot), you can take it out in all types of weather and conditions, it comes with a anti-vibration sled (red) within the case which protects and limits vibration, curved mounting plates attached with 3M industrial adhesive and a protective thick touchscreen membrane, allowing you to operate your iPhone while in the case.
Although we’re still a bit skeptical about this product as it hasn’t exploded yet into the market, below is a drop test video on Youtube that was uploaded by a user and it seems to be a fairly reliable one.

It’s the end of the world, baby! The Campari Calendar makes a toast to life in its 2012 calendar edition. It takes its inspiration from the buzz aroundOn December 29, 2011 / By Gracie
It’s the end of the world, baby! The Campari Calendar makes a toast to life in its 2012 calendar edition. It takes its inspiration from the buzz around the prediction that, according to the ancient Mayan culture, the world as we know will end on 21st December 2012 and enter a transformative period.
Campari’s answer to this ‘gloomy’ imaginary is to react, in an energetic and positive way, without compromises, in countertendency with the main stream. Therefore, with nothing but a blur of unknown possibilities, Campari takes a positive look at intriguing theories, and presents them visually in a series of powerful, awe inspiring photos starring Hollywood actress and supermodel, Milla Jovovich.
Set to take the audience on a stunning visual voyage, the calendar showcases Campari’s latest female protagonist in vivid shots, as she enacts hypothetical scenes about the end of the world. With scenarios inspired from modern cinematography, mythological and biblical origins, the calendar explores remarkable events from dramatic Desertification and Hurricanes to Alien Invasion and Meteorite.
Posing in magnificent couture, Jovovich successfully captivates viewers as she exudes a determined attitude, evoking power and control upon the unknown, and makes a toast to life with her co-star, Campari.
Campari takes this opportunity to celebrate life creatively with optimism and energy, encouraging people the world over to join them in creating passionate, memorable moments to remember, by raising a glass together.
Milla Jovovich comments on her experience: “As a model and an actress, this was an exciting new challenge for me, combining the skills to bring to life each of the hypothetical events in a theatrical, yet sophisticated way. What attracted me most to the project was the powerful inspiration behind it, as well as the positive approach of celebrating life with a special toast, with friends and family.”
The Campari Calendar, of which only 9,999 copies are printed, will not go on sale but will be distributed to friends of Campari internationally. But no worries as Nookmag shares with you the stunning exclusive images from the calendar.
The concept of ‘It’s the end of the world, baby!’ was created by Euros RSCG Milano. Working alongside side photographer Dimitri Daniloff on the project was creative directors Eric Loi and Dario Villa, led by executive creative director Giovanni Porro. The executive production was executed by SeaSun Production.
