All participants will download an mp3 file from website (www.scape.com.sg/countdown)onto their mp3 players (iPod, iPhone, iPad, mobile phones, mp3 players etc). With the cue from the host, the participants will press play together at the same time and the party begins.
For one hour, the mp3 party music, especially mixed by DJ Kristopher an experience DJ for silent disco in the UK circuit, along with the music instructions will be given via the mp3 file. Thus the countdown to the New Year will take place within participants’ personal headsets! To onlookers, the atmosphere will provide a unique spectacle of party goers grooving in ‘silence’ and yet reflecting a party atmosphere with their dance moves.
*SCAPE countdown party is also a platform for local youth to showcase their budding artistic talents. Dare Generation from Ocean Butterflies will stage a concert from 7.00pm to 9.00pm Also not to be missed, a line-up of music, dance and band performances to entertain the crowd leading to count down! Hi Sup Clothing, it’s great to finally see you guys coming out with a new collection, why the long break?
Thank you, we are as excited as you are! Last year, our business model changed slightly to cater to the demand in haji lane, meaning we had more brands in store such that we have almost everything from head to toe in store. Another thing was that we didnt want to just create any collections just because we "have" to. This holiday 2011 season was planned in the way i would say the most proper collection.

This collection i would say was well conceptualise by our team such what we want people know that we have our own culture/lifestyle apart from doing the store, having beers while working, attending shitty events and parties etc etc. Hence, derived from "STAY YOUNG, LIVE FREE". The way we want to show is by having original graphics, with each design having a simple message or meaning that when our consumers buy it, people can identify and know that they can relate the graphics to our store, us(each and every single one in SUP) if our path ever crossed. This season we also try to incorporate "Haji Lane" into some of our graphics, and i would believe that you will see more of it in the coming collections. This lane is really important to us, with our store, the people here, our customers. You can say we actually love and hate this lane.
Congratulations on your recent collaboration work with Staple Design (NYC), will we be seeing any exciting things from you guys in future and what can we expect?

As the festive season reaches its peak, the most anticipated sneaker release of the year is finally here! Any sneaker or Michael Jordan fan will know by now that the Air Jordan 11 ‘Concord’ will be released globally (including Singapore) on 23 December 2011.
Originally released in 1995, the Air Jordan 11 ‘Concord’ was last retro-ed in 2000. Following an eleven-year hiatus, the ‘Concord’ Air Jordan 11 will finally have a second retro drop.
The sneaker is packaged in a special drawer box with ‘Concord’ shoe inserts. Uncover the drawer box and you will be faced with 2 sayings – “Tinker made them shine” and “You made them iconic”. “Tinker made them shine” refers to designer Tinker Hatfield using black patent leather on a sneaker which was unheard of in those days and “You made them iconic” refers to the fact that the Jordan 11 ranks as the one of the most sought after Jordan shoes in the whole Jordan line.
A brief history – the Air Jordan 11 model was designed by Tinker Hatfield. While Jordan was still pursuing a career in baseball, Hatfield designed the shoe in hopes that Michael would eventually wear it if he returned to the NBA.
The Jordan 11 was meant to stand out with a fusion of performance and style. Taken from the world of high-end mountaineering backpacks, the cordura nylon upper gave the Air Jordan 11 model lightweight durability. Further innovation came with the use of a carbon fiber plate on the sole of the shoe that can be seen underneath the clear outsole, which gave the shoe exceptional torsional rigidity. The most visually distinct aspect of the shoe was its shiny patent leather mid and toebox. The shiny leather gave the XI what many described as a ‘formal’ look – a fact that many owners of the shoe took advantage of and paired the shoe off the court with business suits in substitution for dress shoes.
The most interesting part of these sneakers is that they were ‘sampled’ during the playoffs of the year of Jordan’s first return (1995) and Michael was not even supposed to wear them. The folks had no choice but to make it a production model and the decision turned out to be a good one.

Exactly two years ago when Nookmag was conceived, we decided to create an identity for ourselves based on what we believe in. In opposing the norm, we went horizontal, literally. Emphasis was placed on tons of graphics for everyone’s visual pleasure. The ‘Flavours’ section extensively fulfills this role and allows readers to browse through features just like a magazine.
In our quest to reach new heights, we decided to put Nookmag through a facelift after getting some feedback. Without compromising our identity, the new Nookmag allows readers to navigate around with more ease and comfort. Graphics still take centre stage so that Nookmag remains visually appetising. Asian surfing has been riding on enormous waves as professional surfers from Asia concluded the inaugural 2011 Asian Surfing Championship (ASC) season. A prize presentation was organized on 17 December 2011 at Wave House Sentosa to award the surfing champions.
These professional surfers have travelled throughout the Asian region this year and competed against the best surfers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and other countries to achieve their goal and place in history at the first-ever Asian regional surfing championship. This inaugural ASC season has seen the sanctioning of eight surfing events in the Asian region – three in Indonesia, three in Malaysia, one in Thailand and one in Taiwan.
In the Men’s Open Division, Raditya Rondi from Bali-Indonesia is crowned the 2011 ASC Open Champion. Raditya is also the runner-up in the 2011 Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship tour Open Division.
In the Longboard Division, Arif Nur Hidayat from Java-Indonesia is the 2011 ASC Longboard Champion. Arif is also the 2011 Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Longboard Division Champion.
In the Women’s Division, Yasnyiar ‘Bonne’ Gea from Sumatra-Indonesia is the 2011 ASC Women’s Division Champion. Bonne is also the 2011 Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Women’s Division Champion (for the fourth year in a row).
With a resounding success of the first year of the ASC, surfing aficionados can be assured of greater things to come for the Asian surfing community.

Held infront of Cathay Cineleisure Orchard on 17th Dec 2011, the event caught many Saturday shopper off guard with a flash mob dance opening and Dr Bum, Missy Inspector on patrol for the hottest “bum” around. Many walked away with Lee Cooper vouchers and Rock Candies while some end up doing the classic limbo rock all in the name of good fun.

Swedish fashion sock brand Happy Socks recently collaborated with famous American photographer Terry Richardson on a fashion shoot that features the who’s who and coming talent.
The Terry Richardson for Happy Socks campaign consists of a series of 11 portraits presenting Terry Richardson’s perspective on happy socks. Stylist/fashion editor Mel Ottenberg and designer Adam Selman created an impressive series of looks based on Happy Socks’ Chapter #FOUR collection, turning Happy Socks into pants, sweaters, tops, even bunny ears and a bow tie to reflect the personality of each subject. Creative Director Jen Brill brought her impeccable sensibility and vision to the project.
“When Mel and I started discussing the wardrobe, we both wanted a bunch of different pieces to be able to pull from when we were at the shoot. Almost a sock- inspired collection,” says designer Adam Selman.
Launched in 2008, Happy Socks is currently sold in over 50 countries, across every continent. The brand’s recent partnership with United Legwear Co. has allowed Happy Socks to continue to build its retail base in the U.S. market, serve its existing customers more efficiently, and develop its long term goal of being the number one fashion sock brand in the world.
