UPDATE: Due to an overwhelming response, THE U CAFÉ magazine exhibition is extended till 27 November 2011!
Independent magazine Underscore and HJGHER (a design collective with specialised backgrounds in design and behavourial science) show just how an awesome read perfectly complements a great cup of coffee in an original initiative – THE U CAFÉ.
THE U CAFÉ is a month-long independent magazine exhibition set in collaboration with eight selected cafés throughout Singapore. Over 30 international awarding-winning magazine titles covering topics ranging from interiors, art, fashion to food are on exhibition for customers to browse and read freely in their own time within the various café environments.
These eight cafés – namely 15 minutes , A Curious Teepee, Kith Café, Loysel’s Toy,Maison Ikkoku, Papa Palheta, PS.Cafe andThe Plain – were chosen specifically for their distinctive individualistic qualities and their diverse range of interesting customer mix.
During this month-long event, dedicated areas within the cafés are set up for the magazine exhibition. Specialty signature items consisting of meals, food and drinks are also crafted exclusively for customers to compliment their reading experience.
“We wanted to create an ideal reading experience – great magazines and cafés, they go hand in hand. There’s nothing better than to have my own time, with a quality read and the assurance of a great cup of coffee when I want it. I thought why not share that ideal
experience with the magazines and the cafés that we absolutely love, with everyone else?” says Justin Long, Editor of Underscore.

One chance, one second, one strike. The new Nike T90 Laser IV is a completely redesigned boot for the modern day striker who capitalizes on the golden opportunityOn October 10, 2011 / By Simcik
One chance, one second, one strike. The new Nike T90 Laser IV is a completely redesigned boot for the modern day striker who capitalizes on the golden opportunity to bury the ball in the back of the net.
Focused on adapting to the technical demands and movement of a highly agile striker, the new T90 Laser IV is 20% lighter than the previous versions and it features a streamlined silhouette that provides an enhanced fit and feel to the ball. The forefoot area features a newly configured adaptive shield design and high performance synthetic leather upper for a soft and close-to-the-foot feel.
Technically, every other detail of the boot is intricately designed to improve flexibility and accuracy to ensure that it is able to serve the perfect strike. The heel, medial, lateral and toe off edge traction combined with a more flexible plate also enhance agility and reduce slipping.
No doubt the folks at Nike best understand the nature of strikers when they remodelled the studs for the T90 Laser IV to maximise the speed of penetration and release on pitch without increasing pressure for the player. This allows the strikers to make the most of tight spaces, rapid turns and feints to break away from the defenders.
For the deadly finisher who lives and breathes to score goals, the Nike T90 Laser IV is a dream come true and a step closer to making history.
Watch the red hot Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney recreating his perfect strike and unforgettable overhead kick goal during the game against Manchester City last season in the following clip…wearing the lethal T90 Laser IV, of course.
The T90 Laser IV is now available at key retailers.

Simply watch the following clip of the ‘Attack of the Werewolf’ and guess the right end to the film. You will stand a chance to win the brand new Fall 2011 model – A.S High in navy red!
Get ready to enter a fantasy universe…
“In a moonlit night, a young girl finds herself lost in the middle of a forest. Two electric blue eyes look at her through the fog.”
What happens next?
1. The werewolf will try to steal the cheerleader’s Feiyue sneakers and she will have to fight him back to recover them.
2. The pretty cheerleader and the unusually cool werewolf will start a dance battle. The werewolf will finally win given his fancy moon walk move.
3. Both the werewolf and the cheerleader will meet at a costume party celebrated in the forest and spend the rest of the night dancing together.
4. A full moon will appear on the starry sky and the cheerleader will also turn into a werewolf. She will then disappear into the forest along with the original werewolf.
5. The werewolf starts chasing the cheerleader around the forest. When he finally gets her, she realizes he is wearing her favorite pair of Feiyue and falls for him.
The complete ‘Attack of the Werewolf’ film will be launched on 10 October 2011 together with the correct answer.
