What do you get when you house a contemporary fairytale in a building of heritage? An enchanting moment of surreality.
This encapsulates the Female and Nuyou Catwalk held at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station on 25 April 2012. Featuring Italian label REDValentino, this fashion show is the first event to be held at the old railway station since its closure.
SPH Magazines general manager, Diana Lee, said: “Our annual catwalk show is a signature fashion event that reinforces Female and Nuyou’s positions as the leading fashion-forward magazines in Singapore.”
Signature it is. The fashion show never fails to live up to its reputation for picking the most unique locations. From having a 163m catwalk in Orchard Road (the longest ever in Singapore) to venues such as the Formula One Pit Building and Changi Airport’s T3, Female and Nuyou Catwalk events have always pushed the boundaries.
This year, the spotlight was shone on REDValentino, the diffusion label of Italian house Valentino. RED (which stands for Romantic Eccentric Dress) tells a contemporary fairytale of the girl it dresses. From romantic gowns to ladylike jackets in the brand’s signature colourful floral prints and fine embroidered details, forty looks from its Spring/Summer 2012 collection strutted down the runway in an enchanting fashion.
Jeanette Ejlersen, Female’s creative editor, said: “Female and Nuyou Catwalk is turning the spotlight on a single news-making brand. This year, we’re working with REDValentino, the baby in the Valentino stable, as it expands into Asia.”
