Opened by entrepreneur Haden Hee, Hansul Korean Dining Bar looks set to woo its customers with a unique and enjoyable dining experience. Tucked in alluringly amidst the rustic shophouses along the historic Tanjong Pagar road, Hansul, Korean for ‘bottoms up’, sets itself apart from the string of Korean bars in the area by offering exclusive spirits imported direct from Korea.
Hansul carries the most extensive selection of Korean liqueurs in Singapore with many of the brands on sale not found anywhere else in the country. The Jeju Hanrasan Soju, for example has been a hit with Korean customers who are familiar with the drink back home. Aside from traditional and premium Soju, other crowd favourites on the menu include a range of Makgeolli (Rice Wine) and Cocktail Makgeolli which are popular with the ladies, herbal Cheongju, seasonal fruit and sparkling wines as well as Korean beers.
“While we would like to establish ourselves as a drinks centric Korean styled bar, our aim is also to provide our customers with an authentic and memorable experience while dining at Hansul. We have crafted our menu is such a way to pair our signature dishes with our wide selection of drinks,” said owner Haden Hee.
Complimenting its impressive array of exclusive spirits, Hansul boasts its signature ‘Hwa-ro’ charcoal dishes, and is the first restaurant to introduce this trendy Korean concept to Singapore. Diners are now given the pleasure of barbequing their food right at their table over a charcoal grill.
“Our grill items are served in skewers freshly prepared daily in our kitchen, and grilled on our mini Hwa-ro, a personalised charcoal grill that is taking Korea by storm now. Each skewer is marinated to perfection by our very own Korean chefs,” Haden added.
Hansul is H Group Holdings’ third Korean restaurant following Kimchi and Guksu. Since it’s soft opening, Hansul has garnered a strong Korean following comprising of customers who flock there to relish the unique flavours and rare drinks on offer. The dining bar is also looking to reach out to more Singaporeans and has extended it’s closing time to 6 a.m.
“We hope to attract more locals down to Hansul to enjoy our select spread. We are open all week up to 6 in the morning and would be a perfect stop for dinner, supper or a late night snack,” said Haden.
