My name is Wingman. I am the travel companion you’ve never had. Born with love by my creators at Dent, I am built to sustain rough bumps, minor scratches, heavy weathering, and thorough stretching. But the most important part of it all is, I will be with you rain or shine, and keep your belongings safe and dry.
Although some may call me a little bit bulky, I weigh in at 1.57kg, at a height of 50.8cm. With a six-pack dimension of 33.02cm (w) x 22.86cm (d), I’m proud to say I can carry a total load of 7kg on my own.
I am dark skinned – black to be exact – but that’s the only practical way to stay relatively cleaner looking during those long hikes in the wilderness that we’ll take in future. My creators have lovingly chosen a 1000D 100% Nylon Cordura® material for my body, making me water resistant enough to keep your belongings nice and dry during wet weather situations. For those interested in my inner workings, I assure you I’m lined with Black ‘Diamond Ripstop’ nylon, 210D polyester, and Fleece, although I’m not entirely sure what you would do with this information.
If we really go on that hike, I’ll be the best wingman you can have with numerous pockets to help you bring along your most cherished possessions. Fitted with a large pocket behind my seatbelt-grade shoulder straps, I can easily carry your laptop for hours of entertainment and last minute email-replying / photo-editing sessions. I also have hidden compartments, but you’ll have to find those for yourself – grin – and I won’t make it easy.
Needless to say, behind my sturdy YKK Vislon zippers lies space enough to store either two hi-cut or three lo-cut sneakers – with ventilation to boot! – as well as several smaller compartments for little essentials such as torches, lighters, and anything else you can think of. One of these smaller pouches are removable with Velcro straps, just in case you need to bring your stash somewhere without me – what would you need to do with a pouch that’s so private anyway?
Behind my collection of small pouches also lies a sizable compartment for other essentials such as clothes, and… clothes…
When I’m all zipped up, aside from those backpack straps, I also have a handle on my side, and a unique multi-purpose holder for hanging snapbacks, jackets, blazers, and water bottles. All in all, wouldn’t you agree that I’d make the perfect Wingman for your weekend trip away?
With a passion for sneakers and travelling as their glue, the boys at Dent stuck together to make the perfect backpack for sneakerheads who love exploring the world in their own time.
Plagued by the preference of travelling light with a backpack luggage, they found that even if their bags had a shoe compartment, it (the compartment) wasn’t adequately placed to protect their shoes against deformity and being crushed under a pile of clothes and other travel essentials. Likewise, shirts usually ended up wrinkled, and toiletries would occasionally spill, causing a volcanic nightmare in such a small space. The way backpacks were usually made also meant that looking for a single item was a challenge, and even if this problem was solved, others would surface. Thus, the Wingman was created.
With three goals in mind, Dent set out to create a backpack that solved all their problems, was aesthetically suited to all fashion styles, and most importantly, was an affordable buy made of the best materials suited for travelling. Using themselves and their own preferences as their guide, the team waded through challenges to produce the best backpack they could visualise.
