Visitors at Marina Bay will be treated to a visual spectacle with The Fullerton Hotel Singapore being brought to life with a new light projection display, designed to the theme of Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2018 – “Bay of Hopes and Dreams”. Illustrating the journey of the “Fullerton Postmaster Bears” overcoming challenges in a light-hearted storyline, the five-minute facade shows will take place today at 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm, 9.30pm and 10pm nightly. On New Year’s Eve, the light projection will be shown at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm and 11.55pm.
In between each light projection show, the public can look out for the display of their New Year wishes, which were collected from the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2018 website since the start of November, on the façade of the hotel. The public can continue to submit their wishes until 31 December 2017 for them to be showcased on the website.
The Merlion and ArtScience Museum will also be illuminated, forming part of the light projection spectacle for the first time.
The two light projection shows will be synchronised with that at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. The three projection shows will be shown at 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm, 9.30pm and 10pm today. On New Year’s Eve, all three light projections will be shown at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm and 11.55pm.
Four one-minute firework displays will also illuminate Singapore’s skyline hourly from 8pm on New Year’s Eve, right after each light projection show. A special countdown sequence that invites everyone around the bay to collectively countdown to the New Year will follow after the final show at 11.55pm, leading up to a spectacular six-minute midnight firework display.
