In 1976, he attained the third prize in an art competition organised by OCBC Bank in conjunction with the completion of its skyscraper along Chulia Street. A couple decades later, Chin’s artistic flair and creativity went on to won him the first prize in the Parks and Recreation’s logo design competition in 1997.
Despite his 36-year absence from the local arts scene, 2013 finally marked his return to his first love of painting. With a unique painting technique using marker pens and water colours, Chin is able to depict scenes with light, deft and masterful strokes in just minutes. As Chin finds his muse in regional scenes around the country, Moments will undeniably take viewers on a colourful journey through memories of Singapore’s heritage and history.
