Last month, not only did Ed Sheeran perform two sold-out nights at the Singapore Indoor Stadium— topping charts across the nation for his latest single ‘Perfect’ in the process—he also sat down with label mates Kelly Poon (潘嘉麗) and Nathan Hartono (向洋) for an intimate session of interviews.
The video for the latter was just released yesterday on Warner Music Singapore’s Facebook page, reaching more than 170,000 eyeballs and garnering over 50,000 views overnight. The two singer-songwriters hit it off immediately and went head-to-head in a ‘Game of Divide’, consisting of four rounds of interactions based on Ed Sheeran’s song titles, before entering a hilarious battle of ‘ginger’ jokes that showcased both musicians’ humorous sides.
Nathan Hartono (向洋) is a multihyphenate; a singer-songwriter-actor who simply refuses to be pigeon-holed. Last year, he captured the hearts of millions across the sunny island of Singapore and beyond with groundbreaking success on the inaugural season of Chinese reality singing competition, Sing! China, eventually emerging first runner-up under the mentorship of reigning mandopop king Jay Chou. Most recently, he received his first ever nomination at the 2017 MTV Global Chinese Music Awards in the ‘Most Popular Overseas Singer’ category and has been named as one of the Brand Personalities for the Singapore Tourism Board’s new Passion Made Possible brand alongside the Singapore Tourism Ambassador for Greater China, Stefanie Sun. His first ever mandarin EP is currently well underway and is set to make waves early next year.
Following his mighty collaboration with Beyonce, Ed Sheeran is delighted to unveil his stunning duet of ‘Perfect’ with Andrea Bocelli. Ed’s brother Matthew Sheeran – a classical composer – had a vision for the orchestral version and composed the arrangement, which was recorded around the same time of the original. Later, both Ed and Matthew had the idea to ask Andrea to sing on it and the beautiful, accompanying visual and duet were recorded at Andrea’s Italian home in October this year (view here). ‘Perfec’ soared to the top of the charts in the UK last week marking Ed’s fourth UK No.1.
