The creator of the world’s first boat shoe celebrates its 80th anniversary with a fresh perspective on life and adventure! Sperry, introduced to the world in 1935 by avid sailor and explorer Paul Sperry, is launching Odysseys Await – a campaign that embodies the salty, adventurous spirit of its founder.
With a refreshed corporate logo and visual identity, Sperry now appeals to passionate individuals with a story to tell and wants to ignite the human spirit through the power of sea-based discovery and adventure. To do so, Sperry is unveiling the second half of the campaign, the Odyssey Project. Celebrating inspirational discoveries, Sperry will activate 80 global ambassadors with a challenge — to move out of their comfort zones, visit unexpected places, try unfamiliar things and discover more about themselves and the world around them.
Identified by the Sperry team as Intrepids, he/she is a modern-day explorer fueled by a passion to live a meaningful, fulfilling life, rather than simply living in the moment. Each person will receive a custom shoebox, containing a new pair of Sperrys and an itinerary which will send them on different odysseys around the world to discover new people, places and experiences and, ultimately, bring back unforgettable stories.
