The highly anticipated inaugural night edition of The Color Run, a first for South-East Asia, kicked off with a flurry of excitement and an abundance of color at Singapore’s Sentosa Island this evening. The Color Run™ Night presented by CIMB Bank achieved another happy milestone this year, with more than 9,000 enthusiastic Color Runners dashing gleefully into the night armed with laughter and brightly glowing neon colors to light up their path.
Into its fifth edition, the vibrant five-kilometer fun run saw participants made their way through an exhilarating array of glow-in-the-dark color zones and illuminating bubbles in the foam zone, while being showered in a variety of brightly contrasting neon powders in a celebration of health and happiness.
“It was an evening to remember as the 2017 iteration of The Color RunTM in Singapore added a different dimension to the event with its night theme, a first in South-East Asia. As Presenting Sponsor, CIMB Bank is delighted to bring this event to fans of The Color RunTM and the community, a clear manifestation of our “Forward” brand promise where we aim to advance one’s happiness and individuality. Over and beyond the social setting, “Forward” underlines CIMB’s commitment to our customers as we continuously look at providing them with financial solutions that advance and achieve their goals,” said Mak Lye Mun, CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore and Country Head of CIMB Group Singapore.
Greg Hooton Vice President, IMG Asia Pacific said, “We aim to always give our valued Color Runners a fresh new experience each time they participate, and we’re thrilled that today’s first night edition in Singapore was so well received. We’re also very proud of our continued partnership with CIMB Bank Singapore, and truly appreciate having them on board as presenting sponsor once again this year.”
This year’s Color Runners were joined in the festivities by the 20 finalists of the Miss Universe Singapore 2017 pageant. The finalists showed up in full force to run alongside the women and children of their supported charity, Daughters of Tomorrow, which enables and empowers women through confidence-building, skills development and job placements.
“This is the first time that I’ve ever participated in a run and The Color Run is just great fun! Running along the various glow zones with my fellow Miss Universe Singapore finalists surrounded by the laughter and smiles of kids from Daughters of Tomorrow made this Run truly the Happiest 5K on the planet! I will definitely sign up for the next edition again,” said Cara Nicole Neo, Miss Universe Singapore finalist.
Streaming past the finish line in dazzling hues and high spirits, everyone was a winner. The fun continued beyond the finish line and into the night with entertainment and activities at the Festival Village including Color Throws, a highlight and post-run tradition at every Color Run and a dance party headlined by DJ Jason Kai and DJ Reiko.
Having “colored” Kuala Lumpur on 13 August, The Color Run™ presented by CIMB Bank will next be bringing its celebration of health and happiness to Jakarta, Indonesia on 1 October as part of CIMB Group’s sponsorship in three ASEAN cities.
