An award ceremony was held at the Lomography Gallery at Chinatown to announce the winners of the Lomokino Project of Singapore organised by Thirtysix and supported by Lomography. If you recall, we featured 15 short films submitted for the project a few days ago.
In the usual ‘lomography’ style, the award ceremony was an enjoyable light-hearted affair where participants sat back and watched the films while enjoying popcorn and fizzy drinks. The ‘filmmakers’ were also frequently asked to explain the concept behind their work.
So won in the end? With a team name that seemingly suggests its status as the underdog, The Rejects emerged as the winner. All four members (one missing from the team photo) received a Lomokino each – ain’t that a sweet treat?
Watch The Reject’s interpretation of the three unique traits of Singapore – ‘makan’, ‘queue’, and ‘kiasu’ below. Enjoy!
