Tension and excitement rose inside Manhattan Bar as its grand cocktail bar set the stage for the competition’s semi-finals theatrics. From over 50 aspiring bartenders, only 15 semi-finalists were slotted in to showcase their innovative creations in front of highly acclaimed industry judges. Each bartender delivered their 5-minute presentations to the panel including Luke Whearty (Owner, Operation Dagger), Richard Irwin (AMEA BACARDI Brand Ambassador), Bannie Kang (2016 BACARDI Legacy Finalist), and Peter Chua (2015 BACARDI Legacy Finalist).
Apart from creating their original recipes, the bartenders were tasked to make the modern day classic BACARDI Daiquiri. The cocktails were evaluated based on their complexity, taste, presentation, and inspiration. Intensity was high as the bartenders brought their A-game behind the bar. And with only a couple of minutes to impress, all of them truly did not disappoint.
