The worlds of minimalism and glamour collide when French label A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Creation) collaborates with French designer Vanessa Seward on a capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2012.
The spirit of both designers were assiduously adhered to as the collection showcases how their distinct styles complement each other. Vanessa endowed the typical A.P.C. shapes with an inch more feminism and a sexier edge. The waist is always belted and made higher while the shoulder is narrower. The collection includes tops, tunic dresses, blouse dresses, an all-in-one short playsuit, shoes and jewellery.
If A.P.C. is by their own admission ‘a little frigid’, the collaboration with Vanessa Seward draws the A.P.C. girl out and introduces her to a new, quiet kind of glamour.
In true A.P.C. style, the fabrics are key to the collection. With zero tolerance for any shortcuts, the fabrics employed are of the highest standard and the finished garments are produced in artisan units in France and Italy.
The A.P.C. & Vanessa Seward collection will be available at A.P.C. Singapore (#02-08 Raffles Hotel Arcade) on 13 July 2012.
