Eyewear label Mystic Vintage has launched the Alchemy and Sorcery glasses under its Magic Series. The stories behind these glasses are nothing short of magical. Now how often do you come across eyewear inspired by magic?
The first browline glasses (a style of eyewear invented in 1947 by Jack Rohrbach) by Mystic Vintage, the design of Alchemy is a modern take on a classic shape. It features an acetate nose bridge, angular temples and alchemic colours. Inspired by the art of Transmutation, the Alchemy glasses are individually engraved with spells referenced from the 80s cartoon series ‘Visionaries’ where Knights summoned powers with their flags.
Each of these spells – “Three suns aligned pour forth their light and fill the archer’s bow with might!”, “By nature’s hand, by craft, by art; what once was one now fly apart!” and “Power of rot, obscuring truth, what once was old restore to youth!” – are engraved on the temples of the frames of each unique colorway. Alchemy is available in Black, Grey and Tortoiseshell.
Sporting gentle curves, diamond studs and the iconic Mystic Vintage nose-bridge, Sorcery is a frame which embodies the qualities of magic. These sunglasses draw inspiration from songs and scenes of the movie Labyrinth and are dusted with magical quotes such as “Dance Magic Dance”, “I’ll paint you mornings of gold” and “You have no power over me”. Sorcery is available in Black, Copper and Clear Purple.
