A little bit of kindness goes a long way, but sometimes we forget that. As a little reminder, alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet recently put together a fashion soiree to celebrate the initiation of the Kindness Movement as well as the launch of its first ever store in Singapore.
A kindness tree was erected at the storefront, and hanging from its branches were beautiful messages of positivity, encouragement, and love. These messages were written by guests who graced the event, including actress/comedian Patricia Mok, local presenter on Lush 99.5fm Tracy Phillips, and model Hanli Hoefer.
Made possible by the collaboration between the New York-based label and Industrial & Services Co-Operative Society Ltd (ISCOS), these messages will be read by children beneficiaries of the Fairy Godparent Programme (FGP). alice + olivia will also take on the #kindnessproject as an ongoing company commitment. “The concept of being able to share positivity, creativity and kindness around the world is something that I have always believed in; a kind gesture can go a long way,” said Stacey Bendet.
To match the kindness movement and whimsical style of alice + olivia, the event had a selection of cake pops, cupcakes, and swiss rolls made by local French-Australian styled cake service Pretty Delicious. Local designer and DJ Linda Hao Li Yuan was behind the decks, adding to the event her own spin of upbeat live electronic music.
The alice + olivia store is now open at ION Orchard #03-17, with ready-to-wear outfits alongside evening gowns and couture wear, footwear and handbag collections.
