Hold your excitement as KittyWu Records and Incursive Productions presents one of Ireland’s most beloved alternative musical outfits- And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA).
Having received overwhelming critical acclaim and accolades for their dynamic post-rock and trademark guitar rifts, ASIWYFA is finally making their debut in Southeast Asia. The Belfast four-piece will begin their Asia tour in Singapore with a one-night only performance of their infectious instrumental rock in Zouk’s main room.
“ASIWYFA do happy so well it doesn’t really matter that it don’t also make you angry, sad or melancholic. With all the time that post-rock and other instrumental, guitar-based genres spend writing introspective, navel-gazing microsymphonies, ASIWYFA hit exactly the right spot.” – Pop Matters, March 2013
The band, which was formed in 2005, has released three EPs and three albums to date and has touring for over five years around the world from Belarus to China, and most recently, India.
Their latest record, “All Hail Bright Futures” is dominated by a sunnier disposition, a positive uplift that more closely matches the euphoria the Northern Ireland group has been instilling in audiences through their music in a live setting for the last five years.
Singapore genre-binding quintet sub:shaman will be opening the night with their slightly dark and off-kilter prog rock.
“The sun is shining, the party’s started. ASIWYFA sound like they’re having fun shaping and performing this music, and you’ll want to be part of it.” – BBC Music, March 2013.
