Electronic music collective Electronic Music Lab (EML) is having their EP Launch Party – Android, Calling this 6 November 2013. EML hails from National University of Singapore (NUS) and this launch party brings you a night of live electronic music performed by various artists under the current EML roster, using instruments varying from analog synthesizers to digital controllers. This EP proudly represents the collaborative efforts of the artists of EML, which has resulted in six unique and exciting electronic tracks.
Expect to hear surreal trip hop from Ocean’s children, a five-member band that will transport their listeners to realms beyond imagination with their surreal alternative music and Orchestral EDM from the classically trained pianist and violist Mark SkySprinter.
Joining them is Bottle Rack, performing 8 bit music, and whose childhood soundtrack was fan-made arrangements of video game music. There will also be trippy electronica from nanowander, a Singapore based electronica project, and Japanese anime game music from special guest Ryuu Shun Hayashi, an electronic musician/songwriter.
On top of showcasing their personal repertoires, all artistes will be playing their interpretation of the featured tracks on the EP itself. This milestone event marks the start of even more exciting times for this collective which started in 1985 and has since performed at a variety of venues including the Vault, Esplanade Library and Concourse, Aliwal Arts Centre, The Substation, and in the yearly NUS Arts Festival.
Android, Calling is held at Homeclub on 6 November 2013, 8 – 10pm.
