Inkten Sufina, also known as Nadirah Abdul Razak, is creative force to be reckoned with. The local visual artist is adept at a plethora of mediums, including graffiti and graphic design – be it digital, or on canvases. She is part of the art collective RSCLS and has her own studio, the Ink&Clog studio, with fellow graffiti writer Clogtwo.
Even – although not surprisingly – big names like Converse have recognised Inkten’s skill, getting her on board to create Converse-inspired art pieces for their collections and art workshops. Together with Clogtwo, Inkten has travelled to Australia, US, and France, leaving her creative mark – and a bit of the Singapore culture – on the walls of these big countries.
The graphic artist graduated from LASALLE, College of the Arts, and continued to sharpen her skills at pursuing at Nanyang Techonological University’s School of Art Design and Media. This Saturday, Inkten is having her Final Year Project graduation show, and if you haven’t had the privilege to check out her works yet… this is the time to do so.
“Re-Calibrate presents pseudo-functional inventions meant to help camouflage the urban street artist while also enabling the act of urban art-making to move into new realms of performance. Inventions include wearables, tools, weapons and accessories all tailored to the actively invisible urban mark maker.”
Check out Inkten’s work this 10th of May, 6pm at NTU. Unable to make it? Exhibitions will remain open from 11th-18th May, from 10am to 8pm.
