Championing and honing female creative talent in the local scene, ATTAGIRL! will be celebrating its second anniversary this Friday (5 June 2015), 6pm – 3am. In collaboration with the GOOD TIMES crew, ATTAGIRL! will be taking over two floors of Blu Jaz Café for a night filled with a femme powered line-up of live acts, DJs and an art show featuring local players from the visual arts community.
One noteworthy highlight of the celebration is how ATTAGIRL! is giving back with the art show, which features the work of nine female artists who were each given a used skateboard deck (kindly donated by Triad Skateboards). The artists, who include Aeropalmics, Inkten, Kristal Melson, Lovage, Mrydette, Oak & Bindi, soph O, teeteeheehee, and Yellow Mushmellow, breathed new life into each deck with their unique designs. All artworks are up for sale at SGD350 each and will come sealed, wrapped, and with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. All payment must be made directly to Autism Association Singapore (AAS) in a form of donation.
With its roots in DJ-ing, ATTAGIRL! will be presenting a stellar line-up of female DJs that include A/K/A, Casie Lane, DuriO, EJ Missy, Fatim Guzel (MY), Jaydah, Pixiedub, Reiki and Ren. They will be serving out a myraid of music genres such as House, Techno, Indie, Drum and Bass, Dubstep and Electronica.
ATTAGIRL! believes in promoting not only women in the electronic scene, but also bands and individuals involved in live music. This second anniversary party is the first time the female crew is showcasing prominent live musicians – The Analog Girl, Vandetta and yeule (LA).
