American mega-actor Chadwick Boseman whose iconic role as T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel-verse has unexpectedly passed away. The announcement was posted on his Facebook and Twitter pages at approximately 10am local time today.

According to the posts, Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and has battled with it in private for the last 4 years. During his journey of therapy “between countless surgeries and chemotherapy”, Boseman had starred in 9 movies in total. As T’Challa, he broke the racial barrier and became a global icon for Black power as well as an inspiration for our generation.
