It’s murder on the dance floor on 27 October at Zouk Singapore. This Halloween, the boogie is the key to stayin’ alive when the gates of disco inferno opens, and the vengeful spirit of the greatest dancer who ever lived is let loose.
THE PREMISE
Late 70s when disco music was on fever high, there was a dance paradise named ‘Boogie Wonderland’. After cases of disappearing partygoers, dismembered body parts began to surface at random parts of town. The killer turned out to be a socially awkward, dance-obsessed man nicknamed ‘Discopath’. Cornered by a mob of angry village people, his crimes and existence was put to an end. But the dance floor horror remained – Every year on the day of his demise, vanishings continue to occur with no trace but one chilling message that say… “You should be dancing”.
PROGRAMMING
Dance floor dystopia is the theme and the entire premise will be dressed with various elements to bring Boogie Wonderland to life. A retrospect like no other, it’s disco technicolour meets thriller with horrified kitschy installations, an LED-lit mini dance floor for photo opportunities, and roving performances to catch.
Getting partygoers into the groove will be resident cool cats, Zushan, Hong and Jeremy Boon with a trove of era-appropriate soundtracks at Zouk main room. Over at Capital, the trio of LeNERD, Ghetto and Nash D will be dishing out an all-night mayhem of open format mixes for those with a preference for EDM and bass bangers.
THE PRIZES
As with each Zouk Halloween celebration, there will be attractive prizes to be won for the most far out and deviously dressed. Those who turn their looks out will stand to gain complimentary for the night, and be shortlisted for the best-dressed prize.
