Get your fix of local literature from three new Book Vending Machines! Two are conveniently located at the National Museum of Singapore and the Singapore Visitor Centre; a third will be installed at Goodman Arts Centre come mid-June.
An initiative of BooksActually, the Book Vending Machines are part of an effort to make local literature more accessible to the public and share the joys of reading on the go. Available titles include well-loved works such as Urban Sketches, Ministry of Moral Panic, Sonnets From The Singlish, and The Resident Tourist (Part 1).
Just as all good things will eventually come to an end, be sure to drop by before the machines are moved to a yet-to-be-decided location in three months!

Established in 2005, BooksActually is one of the leading independent bookstores in Singapore, specialising in a well- curated selection of fiction and literature. It is a focal point and gathering place that connects local and international writers, artists and designers from various fields, and is regularly listed as one of the top independent bookstores worldwide.
Kenny Leck, owner and co-founder of the bookstore nestled at 9 Yong Siak Street, Tiong Bahru, also helms publishing arm Math Paper Press, which actively supports and promotes the publishing of poetry, short fiction and photo books of Singaporean writers and artists including Cyril Wong, Alvin Pang and Nguan.
BooksActually also runs events like the Singapore Art Book Fair and brings poetry to the streets of Joo Chiat, Holland Village and Toa Payoh with Poetry Spam. The literary house is running the mill to look for a place to call home, a permanent address for its books, lovely tchotchkes, vintage brocante and three cats by 2017.
