‘From Scratch’ is Buds Theatre Company’s three day event where they will be showcasing plays directed and acted by youths. The event that will be held from 21st – 23rd March 2014 will showcase three plays–
Comeuppance of the Media by Shehnaz Salim, which is a pereptive and hilarious hypothesis on how policies governing the media today can affect its users and consumers, All Grown Up by Sarah Supaat, a comical coming-of-age drama about four cousins who are reunited at a wedding and discover unlikely truths about one another, and Reality Like Sai Only by Brenda Tan, a monologue about a woman’s regret as she recounts the deterioration of her relationship with her father.
The plays featured in this event are relatable to Singaporeans and is a clear reflection of the Singapore we live in. Buds Theatre is one of the only theatre companies in Singapore that focuses its efforts on providing young graduates and young professionals with a platform to practice their art form on a regular basis.
Buds Theatre also has a Byt programme that aims to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to Arts Education, regardless of their background and financial status. It is a rigorous and structured programme that centres the Arts industry. The youths are exposed to artists from companies that specialise in written work, experimental theatre and puppetry.

Show times are 3pm on 23rd March 2014 and 8pm, on 21st, 22nd and 23rd March 2014. The show on 22nd March 2014 (Saturday) will feature a double bill of Comeuppance of the Media and Reality Like Sai Only instead of the full triple bill.
