There are no frills and no unnecessary features such as a camera, text messaging and an endless number of ringtones. It’s the no-contract cell phone with large keys and more than 3 weeks standby time.
The back of the phone features a small opening with an address book and pen (yes, not stylus, not touchscreen, it is a ‘book’ and a ‘pen’). John prided that two unique features allow you to use even when your phone is switched off. (yeah.. one can’t emphasize the simplicity any more than that)

Winner of the Singapore Indie Award 2009, Bevlyn Khoo has probably come a long way from a wedding-singer back then, with the release of her fourth album <<Feel About You>>.
The Singaporean sing-songwriter sings an eclectic mixture of English, Mandarin, Japanese and French. Her unique sophomore effort, <<A Bistro Affair>> in French, reached #3 on the Taiwanese Jazz charts in 2010.
She is best known for being “the voice behind
the sub-theme song <<保温>> for the Mediacorp hit drama serial <<小娘惹>> (Little Nyonya)”, (or somehow her label very much preferred to emphasize it that way).
Jing prefers the easy listening <<Feel About You> and <<The Goodbye Waltz>> featured in her latest album. It may be more pop than jazz, but nonetheless, makes a good choice on laid-back Sunday afternoons.

A few weeks ago, a teaser of the‘Attack of the Werewolf’ film was launched and readers were invited to guess the correct end to the film from five possible scenarios. Now the moment has come to reveal the fate of the girl…and the werewolf as well.
“In a moonlit night, a young girl finds herself lost in the middle of a forest. Two electric blue eyes look at her through the fog.”
What happens next?
The correct end is…scenario 1 – The werewolf will try to steal the cheerleader’s Feiyue sneakers and she will have to fight him back to recover them.
What can we say? Looks like a pair of Feiyue shoes is worth risking our lives for. Being caught in the exact circumstance, we would fight a werewolf too!

So apparently when Ke$ha exploded into the scene with the best selling single of 2010 Tik Tok, the folks at Baby-G sat up and listened! Today, the global superstar and platinum selling singer/songwriter and the fashion-forward Baby-G brand announce the launch of two Ke$ha-designed watches – CASIO BGA-200KS-1E and BG-5600KS-7.
Bringing her signature brand of sass and style to the table, Ke$ha infuses two of her most signature themes into the design of her timepieces – animal print and All-American. Both watches are also adorned with Ke$ha’s signature ‘Ke$ha’ logo.
The BGA-200KS-1E harkens to Ke$ha’s wild side, as well as what is arguably the most identifiable theme in Ke$ha’s music and style – animal print. She designed this watch with a leopard print pattern on the watch face and the black resin strap. The watch is 100m water and shock resistant. It is equipped with an LED Light, world time from 48 cities and 29 time zones, a daily alarm, 1/100th second stopwatch, countdown timer, 12/24 hour formats and a mute function.
For her second design, Ke$ha created the patriotic BG-5600KS-7 model which features a splash of red, white and blue complete with stars – iconic traits of the American flag. The watch features 100m water and shock resistance, EL backlight with afterglow, 48-city world time, four daily alarms and one snooze, countdown timer, 1/100 second stopwatch, mute function and 12/24 hour formats.
“I’ve been designing and making my own clothes since I was young and as an artist, I design all of my stage costumes,” said Ke$ha, the ambassador of Baby-G.
“This experience with Casio is so exciting because it’s my first collaboration as a designer and it’s extra meaningful because I wrote my first single ‘TiK ToK’ on a Casio keyboard.”
“In creating my red, white and blue watch, I was obviously inspired by the American flag because it’s a recurring theme in my aesthetic but also represents freedom of speech – a right I passionately exercise in my life and in my music. Leopard print is another recurring theme in my look, which I like to wear because it brings out my animal inside. I hope when people wear my watches they’re reminded to express themselves always and never lose the animal inside themselves.”

Independent magazine Underscore and HJGHER (a design collective with specialised backgrounds in design and behavourial science) show just how an awesome read perfectly complements a great cup of coffee in an original initiative – THE U CAFÉ.
THE U CAFÉ is a month-long independent magazine exhibition set in collaboration with eight selected cafés throughout Singapore. Over 30 international awarding-winning magazine titles covering topics ranging from interiors, art, fashion to food are on exhibition for customers to browse and read freely in their own time within the various café environments.
These eight cafés – namely 15 minutes , A Curious Teepee, Kith Café, Loysel’s Toy,Maison Ikkoku, Papa Palheta, PS.Cafe andThe Plain – were chosen specifically for their distinctive individualistic qualities and their diverse range of interesting customer mix.
During this month-long event, dedicated areas within the cafés are set up for the magazine exhibition. Specialty signature items consisting of meals, food and drinks are also crafted exclusively for customers to compliment their reading experience.

The first showcase was done by Lawrence Chiam on 10 October. He shared anoteworthy lesson on designing your own filter for the Impossible film. We say we’re all for getting your hands dirty and letting your creativity soar!

Get ready to enter a fantasy universe…

What happens next?
1. The werewolf will try to steal the cheerleader’s Feiyue sneakers and she will have to fight him back to recover them.
2. The pretty cheerleader and the unusually cool werewolf will start a dance battle. The werewolf will finally win given his fancy moon walk move.
3. Both the werewolf and the cheerleader will meet at a costume party celebrated in the forest and spend the rest of the night dancing together.
4. A full moon will appear on the starry sky and the cheerleader will also turn into a werewolf. She will then disappear into the forest along with the original werewolf.
5. The werewolf starts chasing the cheerleader around the forest. When he finally gets her, she realizes he is wearing her favorite pair of Feiyue and falls for him.
The complete ‘Attack of the Werewolf’ film will be launched on 10 October 2011 together with the correct answer.
