Founded in Tokyo in 2006, White Mountaineering is the brand of Japanese designer Yosuke Aizawa. Taking the great outdoors as inspiration, Aizawa and his team use functional, high-performance textiles and design details as a springboard for fashion-forward collections that blur the boundaries between urban and outdoors wear.
The brand’s long-running partnership with adidas has led to some of the most striking and instantly-recognisable footwear and apparel releases of the past decade: from the stripped-back hues of their very first team-up on a pair of classic Stan Smith tennis shoes, to a hyper-technical take on the adidas Terrex range of trail running and hiking shoes that were released earlier this year.
This season’s team-up first saw the light of day during White Mountaineering’s show at Paris Fashion Week back in January, with models stalking the runway in attention-grabbing new versions of the recently rejuvenated adidas Nite Jogger. First released in 1980, the Nite Jogger was built, as its name suggests, for visibility. It was the first running shoe to utilise reflective features and almost four decades on has been updated with a host of contemporary technologies and materials.
The two White Mountaineering takes on the Nite Jogger bring considered colorway choices to the suede leather overlays and mesh and textile underlays that make up the shoe’s uppers. In keeping with the Nite Jogger’s roots, many elements of the design are also constructed from reflective materials, ensuring the shoe stands out in the night.
The first pair features a vibrant collage of oranges, greens and reds, while the second adopts a slightly more understated, forest-like palette of moss greens, greys and burgundy. Both pairs feature striking White Mountaineering branding: most provocatively on the tongue, which reads: One: design. Two: utility. Three: technology. The imagination to fuse these elements together. The attitude of not submitting to sales or market needs. Meanwhile a blown-out rendering of the White Mountaineering logo appears not only across the TPU heel counter but merged in beneath the iconic three stripes – a fitting blend for a shoe that could only have been conceived by these two brands together.
adidas Originals x White Mountaineering Nite Jogger (SGD 250) will be available online and at the adidas Pacific Plaza store from now.

One of adidas Originals’ most iconic and longest-running apparel collections returns for FW19 again — the adicolor collection, offering a comprehensive range for men and women, all in the series’ distinctive color palette.
Long-established as an iconic hijacked heritage collection from adidas Originals, the adicolor collection renders essential sportswear pieces in distinctive blocked color combinations. This season, adicolor takes inspiration from natural spectrums of light and color most commonly observed in rainbows. As a result, adicolor FW19 offers an essential adidas wardrobe of the six classic sport colors that pay homage to the kaleidoscopic colors of the rainbow; Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet.
In men’s, the adicolor collection offers essential adidas pieces such as shorts, jerseys, t-shirts, outerwear and accessories, most notably the SST WB and 3-Stripe HZ jackets, while a new premium iteration of the brand’s iconic Firebird Tracksuit offers the two-piece tracksuit in 7 unique colors for men.
For the women’s offer, this same approach is followed, applying the adicolor palette to pieces such as swimsuits, sweatshirts, trackpants and accessories including socks, baseball caps and waistbags. Branding hits in the form of large Trefoil logo graphics and contrasting 3-Stripe mark finish each piece, while a women’s classic Firebird Tracksuit completes the picture.
The adicolor FW19 collection is now available at adidas stores at Pacific Plaza, VivoCity, Bugis+, Paragon and at adidas.com.sg/adicolor

Local fashion powerhouse Love, Bonito opened the doors of its third outfit in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District. The new store presents the best of the brand’s ‘phygital’ offering through a bigger community space, more photo-worthy spots like an infinity mirror room, an Augmented Reality (AR) walkway, and personal stylists on demand.
Covering over 6,000 square feet, the new Love, Bonito Funan store is the brand’s biggest yet, defined by a refreshing, feminine interior design and intuitive spatial layout. The innovative queue system at Love, Bonito’s flagship store – a pioneer in Singapore’s retail scene – will also be rolled out here, alongside modular fitting rooms and two new spacious VIP rooms with wheelchair & pram priority access, catering for the spectrum of female shoppers. The brand will also be debuting an on-demand book-a-stylist service, rounding out their uniquely thoughtful, personalised and hassle-free shopping experience.
Digital touchpoints such as Instagrammable spots and an AR walkway with accompanying Facebook filters also add an element of fun, allowing digitally-native shoppers to indulge in play, and to share their unique in-store experiences on social media.
At the heart of the store is a new and improved space for community engagement. Starting as early as July 2019, Love, Bonito will be kickstarting a rejuvenated calendar of events spanning the core pillars of fashion and beauty, extending into areas of health and wellness. These weekly thematic workshops underscore the brand’s commitment to positively impact every facet of a modern woman’s life.
The launch of Love, Bonito’s Funan store comes on the back of website and technology enhancements that the brand rolled out earlier in May this year – including but not limited to, omni-channel gift cards and store credits, live visibility of in-store availability and more. It expands Love, Bonito’s repertoire of omni-channel features, unifying shoppers’ instore and online experiences.

Ever since securing US 13 million through its Series B funding, Love, Bonito has invested in building a strong technology stack, in order to enhance consumers’ experience per square meter for every new store launched.
Love, Bonito currently operates across four countries and seven cities, and ships globally from the main e-commerce site. There are plans for more stores to be rolled out by the end of 2019, starting with the launch of their first pop-up store in Hong Kong Central in the second half of this year.

Today, adidas formally introduced Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell’s first signature sneaker, D.O.N. Issue #1. The new silhouette focuses on supporting his unmatched vertical leap and speed while paying tribute to Mitchell’s nickname through a collection of four Marvel Super Hero colorways, set to release today.
Just as many Super Heroes have to overcome their own adversity, Mitchell’s unconventional path to the NBA provides inspiration for those who face challenges in their own life. His journey, coupled with his positive outlook through hardship, led to the decision to name his signature line D.O.N. Issue #1, as a testament to Mitchell’s Determination Over Negativity.
“Determination Over Negativity is a belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from,” said Mitchell. “I wanted this sneaker to be a symbol of that – for the kid who believes they can do anything.”
Mitchell’s determination and belief in himself was key throughout his journey from college athlete to NBA prospect, to star with his own signature sneaker. D.O.N. Issue #1 features a propulsion clip on the side for lateral support and a wider outsole to provide stability for landing from above-the-rim leaps. BOUNCE cushioning ensures a comfortable ride, and a unique, wavy tread pattern, which represents Mitchell’s unconventional path to the NBA, helps drive his illusive speed. Additional design details include spider-web stitching on the toe box and tongue, and a custom coding that represents the addresses of stops on Mitchell’s journey to NBA superstar like Brewster Academy in New Hampshire (“80/A:DR [WBR] NH”) and the University of Louisville (“1.AP.LV:KY”), among others.
Each new colorway of D.O.N. Issue #1 will celebrate Mitchell and other Marvel Super Heroes:

This season, adidas Originals introduces the OZWEEGO silhouette for today. Exemplifying the aesthetic that typifies the aggressive design language of the ‘90s, adidas Originals has created a new interpretation, evolved and re-worked for today’s generation.
Released in a multitude of iterations throughout the 1990s, the OZWEEGO models pushed hyper- futuristic footwear design to its furthest reaches. In this contemporary reimagining of the OZWEEGO silhouette, adidas looked to the OZWEEGO 3 sneaker of 1998 – a running shoe that was embraced by street culture. For the newest iteration of this silhouette, adidas Originals has identified the most innovative elements to bring forward from the original OZWEEGO 3 design such as adiPRENE and adiPRENE+ which allows for the wearer’s maximum comfort in the midsole.
With a distinctive eye stay panel, defined midsole lines, and translucent support tube, today’s OZWEEGO model offers a modern expression of the original design language and ethos of the OZWEEGO 3 sneaker. True to the materials of the period, today’s OZWEEGO model features a classic mesh, suede, and TPU construction across the upper, countered with fabric lining. This is then rendered in a nostalgic white colorway with solar yellow and blue accents reminiscent of the era’s outlandish palette, creating a formidable new expression of an unforgettable period in running footwear design.
The OZWEEGO silhouette (SGD 190) releases on June 22 at adidas Originals at Pacific Plaza.

This fall, Vans takes two of the brand’s time-honored silhouettes, the Era and Sk8-Hi and elevates them with oversized features and layers for an entirely new take on its heritage models. Using platform bumpers, an exaggerated outsole and translucent foxing tape, Vans introduces a bold interpretation of fashion’s current exaggerated sneaker trend, to debut this June.
Vans’ original skate shoe, the Era, kicks off the three-piece collection and utilizes the original multi-panel construction with cotton-canvas uppers available in two colorways. Each model is accented with a platform upper; the white/checkerboard colorway sees an oversized checkerboard heel bumper beneath and translucent outsole with a stacked gum bumper at the toe.
A second installment of the Era uses dual-tone purple and black uppers with pink and translucent sea green outsole that is accented with an oversized confetti bumper. Offering a contemporary take on the Sk8-Hi, a teal Sidestripe decorates the two-tone uppers. The high-top is finished with teal translucent tape atop the platform sole layered with traditional gum rubber and a confetti glitter toe bumper and pink heel. Each model in the Stacked Collection is finished with Vans Wafflesaw, a modern expression of the brand’s vulcanized outsole.
The Stacked Collection are available in Vans retail stores and online at Vans.com now.

Converse x JW Anderson delivers the Run Star Hike in black. The quintessential summer sneaker of 2019 will be available on 25 April, with remixed Chuck 70 Grid in Converse archive prints.
Looking to craft a contemporary silhouette that remixed a heritage classic, Converse and JW Anderson created the Run Star Hike: One-part Chuck, one-part Runner.
After its debut on the runway at London Fashion Week last Fall, the Run Star Hike became an instant mash-up classic. Maintaining the classic Chuck 70 upper, now releasing in Black, the sole presented Converse a challenge in engineering: how to retain integrity of individual parts and still present a strong catalyst for visceral reaction.
The result? An unapologetically bold EVA midsole from the Converse Run Star Hike finished with a rubber heel wrap and distinct Star placement. Taking cues from zig-zag lugged hiking boots, the Run Star Hike is designed with exaggerated tooling and color pops, bringing high visibility to any look.
Additionally, the brands introduce the Converse x JW Anderson Americana Chuck 70 in time for summer. The Converse x JW Anderson Grid has been a staple of the partnership since the beginning, and now returns with a graphic application derived from Converse’s recently energized archive prints. First introduced in 1991, the ‘American Flag’ is once again interpreted on a Chuck 70 canvas with Johnathan. With the JWA brand monogram grid serving as its base, the Converse graphic comes to life in a split execution for a harmonious clash of the past and future.
Converse x JW Anderson Runstar Hike (Black) is available at Pedder on Scotts at SGD199.90 and Converse x JW Anderson Americana Chuck 70 and Chuck 70 Grid is available at Pedder on Scotts and Limited Edition Chamber at SGD169.90.

adidas Originals’ women’s-exclusive Sleek silhouette steps out in three unique constructions, transforming the shoe’s nostalgic design with a range of design adjustments including zips, velcro and lace closures.
Built around the adidas Sleek model’s classic design, inspired by adidas’ extensive archive of tennis models, each shoe in the release features a soft leather upper with perforated 3-stripe mark and a trefoil logo window, finished with stitched details and a rubber sole.
Each of model then receives slight adjustments to its design to create a variety of shoes rooted in the same core silhouette. On the heels of last year’s Converse x Brain Dead capsule, a graphic One Star iteration is revealed. A brand that embodies a new age approach to clothing, Brain Dead co-founder and creator Kyle Ng was immediately drawn to remix and make new Converse’s rich array of original archival prints at the start of the collaboration.
Converse’s first graphic pattern was introduced in 1983, a camouflage print applied to the Chuck Taylor All Star as the sneaker took on a second life as a lifestyle sneaker that became a global symbol of expression. A glow-in-the-dark animal print followed in 1988. The Converse x Brain Dead One Star, leverages themes and graphics from the initial capsule launched last year, which taps in to Converse’s interpretation and adoption by street and skate culture.
The bold pair focuses on a unique juxtaposition of archive Converse animal prints with simplistic polka dots on each shoe. It is further energized by Ng’s brand vision, “Brain Dead is not One Person, Nor Is It One Idea. It sits in the space between people,” which is seen on its foxing tape.
Converse X Brain Dead One Star is available from now for SGD169.90 at Ngee Ann City, Converse Boutique Store, Limited Edition Chamber and Limited Edition Vault.

The ADMIX RUNNER model possesses a fresh and unique look, achieved by combining essential elements inspired by archive designs of past Onitsuka Tiger styles.

Following the launch of Converse’s first style-driven expression of the ERX this Fall, Converse and Don C release a second head-to-toe capsule featuring five ERX executions. Fascinated byOn January 31, 2019 / By Nookmag
Following the launch of Converse’s first style-driven expression of the ERX this Fall, Converse and Don C release a second head-to-toe capsule featuring five ERX executions. Fascinated by the ERX through his own personal memories of the silhouette and love of the sport, Don C continues to leverage the 80’s silhouette’s cross-cultural, on and off court adoption, and remasters it for the present.
The collection play host to two juxtaposing ideals, “Animal” and “Metal”, crafted in unison and born from Don C’s encyclopedic knowledge of basketball and his modern streetwear design ethos. Constructed to bring style to the forefront of function, the ERX boasts a renewed EVA midsole, while the upper – with all its panels — and rubber cupsole mirror the originals from the 1980s.
The “Animal” pack celebrates the innate rivalry between predator and prey through the ERX 260 Mid. Crafted in classic leather colorway, the silhouette is accented with wild animal prints, a signature execution of Don C’s. The patterns and textures bleed into an accompanying four-piece apparel and accessories set, and host hints of color reminiscent of his first ERX drop with Converse. Each sneaker also comes with two lace sets, embellishing the print on each sneaker’s heel overlay.
The “Metal” pack offers three additional distinct ERX 260s in contrasting color palettes, along with four-piece apparel and accessory set in the same tones, derived from the glam metal era. The craze, which developed at the convergence of 80s punk rock and pop genres, transformed the subculture’s styles into a new trend that helped define the time. Each ERX plays host to an assortment of multi-sized studs and distinct inflections that further elevate the silhouette through the lens of modern streetwear. Each is also adorned with an oversized “CONS” logo print on the tongue, lighting bolt graphics and multiple lace options.
Converse ERX by Don C (SGD 199.90) will be available at Converse Ngee Ann City, ION, Vivo City, Bugis Junction and Changi Airport Terminal 2.
