Leading sports and lifestyle brand, Skechers launched limited edition Skechers X Sailor Moon collection in Singapore islandwide.
The collection features sneakers in two different styles, with iconic design elements inspired by the Sailor Guardians, which both fans of the anime series as well as streetwear enthusiasts will be able to appreciate. In addition, selected Skechers X Sailor Moon apparel are also available.
D’Lites Airy 2.0
Representing the color auras of the Sailor Guardians – Sailor Moon (dark pink and blue), Sailor Venus (navy and yellow), Sailor Mercury (light and dark blue), Sailor Mars (purple and red) and Sailor Jupiter (pink and green), the collection updates the existing D’Lites Airy 2.0 chunky sneaker with five new colorways.
Additional details such as satin bow laces and each character’s planetary symbol on the shoe tongue add a unique touch, while the D’Lites 2.0’s Air Cooled Memory Foam cushioned insole and shock-absorbing midsole provide comfort when you walk or dance in the shoes.
For a classic sneaker look, the collection also includes the Skechers Street shoe which has been adapted to feature pastel colors and a ribbon bow, reminiscent of Sailor Moon’s signature hairstyle. Eagle-eyed fans will also recognise the planetary symbols of the squad, finished in gold detail on the shoe’s midsole.
Along with the shoes, Skechers is also launching Skechers X Sailor Moon hoodies, pullovers, and T-shirts featuring character images and text wording from the series. Silhouettes of characters such as Luna the black guardian cat and Usagi (Sailor Moon) also appear in the designs.
The Skechers X Sailor Moon Collection is available at 14 Skechers concept stores islandwide, including ION Orchard, Plaza Singapura, NEX, Jewel Changi Airport, Jurong Point and Bugis Junction (Lifestyle Store).
Braun Büffel unveils the new store design concept at ION Orchard which sets the tone for a whole new Braun Büffel brand retail experience that invites customers toOn January 20, 2020 / By Nookmag
The architectural philosophy of the new design concept radiates contemporary luxury where a fusion of heritage, modernity and industrial chic meets – keeping up with the modern eclecticism that characterises the House’s new collections.
The new contemporary vision for the brand is to create a new Braun Büffel brand experience across multiple physical and digital touch-points. The launch of the new store design concept is the first step of the House’s new business strategy.
The mood within the store is one of modern luxury paired with quality craftsmanship where innovation is created through the complementary combination of material finishes:
The Women’s Collection
A kaleidoscopic display of pastel colours sets the canvas for the women’s collection – with hints of shell coral, milky blue and ash green juxtaposed against modern shapes – evoking a sense of positivity. This season, the Braun Büffel woman is elegant, refined and she wants to convey a strong confident image of herself.
An emblem of elegance and style, the ultra-versatile Cate collection is a must-have in your accessory wardrobe. Featuring a structured design aesthetic, paired with glossy geometric patent leather details inspired by Art Deco references set against a rich Nappa leather body, the Cate is the embodiment of seductive appeal.
Inspired by the traditional vintage trunk suitcase, the Sunny is an exquisite piece embodying the House’s excellence in the art of leather craftsmanship. Crafted in fine grain printed calf leather embossed with lizard skin print in a deep glossy shine and complemented with Nappa leather panels, the Sunny is the quintessential expression of evening opulent glamour.
Crafted in double-faced fine grain printed calf leather, the Larrah collection debuts a new iconic “interlocking” Braun Buffel logo emblem. With a dual-tone rich contrasting colour palette design aesthetic, the Larrah is the ideal accessory for the woman that is looking for a maximalist leather accessory to pair with any ensemble that is sure to impress.
The #BBMonogram makes a resurgence in the Misty-M collection – a lightweight utilitarian design that looks at multi-functionality as a core design principle, together with an updated #BBMonogram print–inspired by a bright, modern interpretation of the military camouflage print for the adventurous woman.
Technical innovation is evident in the Kendrish collection – crafted in recycled nylon with Nappa leather and decorated with stud embellishments that adds a MTV-Age punk style aesthetic. Utilitarian-sporty shapes with semi-structured silhouettes form the design philosophy of the Kendrish – ideal for the modern millennial looking for an accessory for everyday use or for wanderlust travels.
Refreshed with playful pastel hues this season, the brand’s signature Ophelia line boasts an updated look and carries a youthful vivacity for the modern Braun Büffel woman. It departs from its regular boxy structure to assume a more sensual form while paired with patent leather details and new logo appliqué.

Don’t let people who don’t understand your way of life
be in the way of your passion and happiness.
Meet Danial Mok; a sports television broadcasting executive, an OG sneakerhead, and a dad… with a sneakerhead son in the making! In fact, Danial’s son, Ilhan was featured on Nike just the weekend before the turn of 2020. Here’s a sneak peek into the mind of the proud dad of a 3rd generation sneakerhead.
As an avid sneaker collector yourself, would you say Ilhan is as big of a sneakerhead as you are?
He’s probably a badass sneakerhead for his age group, and definitely a bigger sneakerhead than me when I was his age. He now has around 35 pairs and counting.
Do you and Ilhan wear matching sneakers? Who chooses what to wear?
Yes we do. I will try to wear matching sneakers with my son most of the time, and will usually pick out a few pairs of shoes for him to choose from before we head out.
What are both of your favourite pairs?
My current favourite is the Air Max React 270 “Bauhaus”, and Ilhan’s is definitely the Mars Yard.
I like the shape and the colorway of the Air Max React 270 “Bauhaus” as it fits my everyday style, while he likes the Mars Yard because of the comfort and how easy it is to put it on; only Velcro straps instead of shoe laces!
What’s the next pair on your hunting list for both you and Ilhan?
I’ve always wanted the Sean Wotherspoon 97/1 air max for the both of us, but… I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for it. Hahaha!
As Danial celebrates his birthday today, we also took the opportunity to seek an update on his current collection, as well as his views of the sneaker community today.
You sold half your collection when you got married. Do u miss those that you sold?
I’d be lying if I say I don’t miss them, and there are days I wish I still had a certain pair to wear out. I probably miss my Air Maxes the most.
How has your collection changed since your last interview in 2018?
No drastic changes. I’m missing the Flyknits a lot, but I have more Air Maxes in the collection now.
Do you still sneaker hunt the same way compared to a decade ago?
Right now everything is accessible online and getting shoes are much easier nowadays compared to back then. By a click of a button you can even get limited edition ones online.
Have you ever collected a double pair; one to wear and one to keep?
Hahaha! I’ve never done that. One to rock and one to keep on ice; different people have different ways of collecting. For me, shoes are meant to be worn. Back then we didn’t have that many social media platforms to flex your gears. In order to be noticed, you had to wear out your pairs.
Any advice for newbie sneakerheads?
Your shoes will eventually die. So balance out your passion, livelihood and health.

In a collaboration with L.A. Gear California, Skechers has introduced the Skechers X L.A. Gear Slammer Collection, a basketball-inspired mid-top fashion sneaker that was a smash hit upon its release in 1988 – sure to excite fans who remember the original LA Gear Slammer as well as those who love retro styles and old-school sneaker designs.
Fronted by both Michael Jackson and NBA star player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, L.A. Gear’s basketball sneakers were iconic shoes that represented a generation. Skechers has joined forces with the brand to relaunch the 1988 L.A. Gear Slammer – the first basketball-inspired fashion sneaker created for women.
The new Slammer features the same mid-top retro basketball design, with coloured accents and piping as well as the vintage-style L.A. Gear print logo across the heel panel, but has been updated to feature Skechers’ Air Cooled Memory Foam comfort insole. It’s the time of year to make a wish. Girls used to dream of being princesses because they were told that’s what girls should be. Or simply, just be your biggest dream.

As such, The Body Shop’s beauty advent calendars include daily surprises including full-sized iconic products, hot-off-the-press new launches and special edition collections.

With glimpses of Ms. Santa, a magical festive village, and snowy scenes, the Beauty, Deluxe and Ultimate Advent Calendars aren’t just about products (although those are pretty great) – every day of advent, you can celebrate the achievements of brilliant women who dreamed big and made history.
In collaboration with Singapore Children’s Society, SGD 0.10 from every transaction made in stores this holiday season will go towards helping four youth centres support and promote life skills and character development in our youth. Likewise, The Body Shop, at the global level, has teamed up with Plan International – a global children’s charity striving to achieve equality for girls worldwide – to donate 1.8 pence from every transaction made in stores. All donations will go towards supporting and providing training for girls in Indonesia and Brazil, to help them find employment or start their own business.

UNIQLO, the Japanese global apparel retailer is launching a Fall/Winter collection in collaboration with JW ANDERSON, a brand at the forefront of modern fashion. The theme for this season’s collection is the Great British Outdoors. Drawing inspiration from the town of St. Ives in Cornwall, England, known for its seamless blend of art and nature, this new LifeWear line fuses traditional British elements with the modern designs characteristic of the JW ANDERSON brand.
Commenting on the launch of the new collection, Jonathan Anderson said, “Like all the past seasons I have done with UNIQLO, it is always interesting to see the collection evolve through the meetings with the teams to become this amalgamation of LifeWear and JW Anderson. I like the pops of colour that make the heritage British patterns feel a bit more modern. Contrasting pops of colour and tartan are very present in this collection.”
A modern update to traditional, classic British patterns
Traditional British patterns that the designer was inspired by from his childhood, such as tartans and warm Nordic designs, are used as the main patterns for a range of items, from outerwear and skirts to innerwear and accessories. Patterns with a classic feel are adorned with borderlines and fringes to create the playful designs characteristic of the JW ANDERSON brand.
Reversible designs with accent colours that offer a twist
The fourth season of this collaboration again includes the reversible items that have become a collaboration standard. New this season are down jackets and coats with splashes of vivid yellows and greens over an earthy colour base. Down jackets for both men and women feature neutral, classic tones on the outside, with contrasting colours on the inside, allowing for a rich alternative to the generally neutral fall/winter outfits. These are some of the designer’s favourite items.
Fusion of UNIQLO’s functionality and JW ANDERSON’s innovative design
HEATTECH Warm Lined Pants are lined with HEATTECH fleece, with exceedingly practical features including a webbing belt that can be easily adjusted with one hand, and side pockets accented with colourful bungee cords. Women’s AIRism leggings and half–zip tees prevent stuffiness and maintain comfort even in winter, with striking triple colour borderline designs that give edgy accents to the traditional collection items.
The UNIQLO x JW Anderson Fall/Winter 2019 line-up will be available from October 18 at Orchard Central Global Flagship Store and on UNIQLO.com

Founded in Tokyo in 2006, White Mountaineering is the brand of Japanese designer Yosuke Aizawa. Taking the great outdoors as inspiration, Aizawa and his team use functional, high-performance textiles and design details as a springboard for fashion-forward collections that blur the boundaries between urban and outdoors wear.
The brand’s long-running partnership with adidas has led to some of the most striking and instantly-recognisable footwear and apparel releases of the past decade: from the stripped-back hues of their very first team-up on a pair of classic Stan Smith tennis shoes, to a hyper-technical take on the adidas Terrex range of trail running and hiking shoes that were released earlier this year.
This season’s team-up first saw the light of day during White Mountaineering’s show at Paris Fashion Week back in January, with models stalking the runway in attention-grabbing new versions of the recently rejuvenated adidas Nite Jogger. First released in 1980, the Nite Jogger was built, as its name suggests, for visibility. It was the first running shoe to utilise reflective features and almost four decades on has been updated with a host of contemporary technologies and materials.
The two White Mountaineering takes on the Nite Jogger bring considered colorway choices to the suede leather overlays and mesh and textile underlays that make up the shoe’s uppers. In keeping with the Nite Jogger’s roots, many elements of the design are also constructed from reflective materials, ensuring the shoe stands out in the night.
The first pair features a vibrant collage of oranges, greens and reds, while the second adopts a slightly more understated, forest-like palette of moss greens, greys and burgundy. Both pairs feature striking White Mountaineering branding: most provocatively on the tongue, which reads: One: design. Two: utility. Three: technology. The imagination to fuse these elements together. The attitude of not submitting to sales or market needs. Meanwhile a blown-out rendering of the White Mountaineering logo appears not only across the TPU heel counter but merged in beneath the iconic three stripes – a fitting blend for a shoe that could only have been conceived by these two brands together.
adidas Originals x White Mountaineering Nite Jogger (SGD 250) will be available online and at the adidas Pacific Plaza store from now.

One of adidas Originals’ most iconic and longest-running apparel collections returns for FW19 again — the adicolor collection, offering a comprehensive range for men and women, all inOn July 16, 2019 / By Nookmag
One of adidas Originals’ most iconic and longest-running apparel collections returns for FW19 again — the adicolor collection, offering a comprehensive range for men and women, all in the series’ distinctive color palette.
Long-established as an iconic hijacked heritage collection from adidas Originals, the adicolor collection renders essential sportswear pieces in distinctive blocked color combinations. This season, adicolor takes inspiration from natural spectrums of light and color most commonly observed in rainbows. As a result, adicolor FW19 offers an essential adidas wardrobe of the six classic sport colors that pay homage to the kaleidoscopic colors of the rainbow; Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet.
In men’s, the adicolor collection offers essential adidas pieces such as shorts, jerseys, t-shirts, outerwear and accessories, most notably the SST WB and 3-Stripe HZ jackets, while a new premium iteration of the brand’s iconic Firebird Tracksuit offers the two-piece tracksuit in 7 unique colors for men.
For the women’s offer, this same approach is followed, applying the adicolor palette to pieces such as swimsuits, sweatshirts, trackpants and accessories including socks, baseball caps and waistbags. Branding hits in the form of large Trefoil logo graphics and contrasting 3-Stripe mark finish each piece, while a women’s classic Firebird Tracksuit completes the picture.
The adicolor FW19 collection is now available at adidas stores at Pacific Plaza, VivoCity, Bugis+, Paragon and at adidas.com.sg/adicolor

Local fashion powerhouse Love, Bonito opened the doors of its third outfit in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District. The new store presents the best of the brand’s ‘phygital’ offering through a bigger community space, more photo-worthy spots like an infinity mirror room, an Augmented Reality (AR) walkway, and personal stylists on demand.
Covering over 6,000 square feet, the new Love, Bonito Funan store is the brand’s biggest yet, defined by a refreshing, feminine interior design and intuitive spatial layout. The innovative queue system at Love, Bonito’s flagship store – a pioneer in Singapore’s retail scene – will also be rolled out here, alongside modular fitting rooms and two new spacious VIP rooms with wheelchair & pram priority access, catering for the spectrum of female shoppers. The brand will also be debuting an on-demand book-a-stylist service, rounding out their uniquely thoughtful, personalised and hassle-free shopping experience.
Digital touchpoints such as Instagrammable spots and an AR walkway with accompanying Facebook filters also add an element of fun, allowing digitally-native shoppers to indulge in play, and to share their unique in-store experiences on social media.
At the heart of the store is a new and improved space for community engagement. Starting as early as July 2019, Love, Bonito will be kickstarting a rejuvenated calendar of events spanning the core pillars of fashion and beauty, extending into areas of health and wellness. These weekly thematic workshops underscore the brand’s commitment to positively impact every facet of a modern woman’s life.
The launch of Love, Bonito’s Funan store comes on the back of website and technology enhancements that the brand rolled out earlier in May this year – including but not limited to, omni-channel gift cards and store credits, live visibility of in-store availability and more. It expands Love, Bonito’s repertoire of omni-channel features, unifying shoppers’ instore and online experiences.
LOCAL WITH GLOBAL AMBITIONS
The new Love, Bonito Funan outlet is testament to the brand’s strong growth in Singapore and the region. Ever since securing US 13 million through its Series B funding, Love, Bonito has invested in building a strong technology stack, in order to enhance consumers’ experience per square meter for every new store launched.
Love, Bonito currently operates across four countries and seven cities, and ships globally from the main e-commerce site. There are plans for more stores to be rolled out by the end of 2019, starting with the launch of their first pop-up store in Hong Kong Central in the second half of this year.
STORE OPENING PROMOTIONS
In light of the Funan store opening, consumers can enjoy the following in-store promotions and treats:

Today, adidas formally introduced Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell’s first signature sneaker, D.O.N. Issue #1. The new silhouette focuses on supporting his unmatched vertical leap and speed while paying tribute to Mitchell’s nickname through a collection of four Marvel Super Hero colorways, set to release today.
Just as many Super Heroes have to overcome their own adversity, Mitchell’s unconventional path to the NBA provides inspiration for those who face challenges in their own life. His journey, coupled with his positive outlook through hardship, led to the decision to name his signature line D.O.N. Issue #1, as a testament to Mitchell’s Determination Over Negativity.
“Determination Over Negativity is a belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from,” said Mitchell. “I wanted this sneaker to be a symbol of that – for the kid who believes they can do anything.”
Mitchell’s determination and belief in himself was key throughout his journey from college athlete to NBA prospect, to star with his own signature sneaker. D.O.N. Issue #1 features a propulsion clip on the side for lateral support and a wider outsole to provide stability for landing from above-the-rim leaps. BOUNCE cushioning ensures a comfortable ride, and a unique, wavy tread pattern, which represents Mitchell’s unconventional path to the NBA, helps drive his illusive speed. Additional design details include spider-web stitching on the toe box and tongue, and a custom coding that represents the addresses of stops on Mitchell’s journey to NBA superstar like Brewster Academy in New Hampshire (“80/A:DR [WBR] NH”) and the University of Louisville (“1.AP.LV:KY”), among others.
Each new colorway of D.O.N. Issue #1 will celebrate Mitchell and other Marvel Super Heroes:
