CONVERSE Inc., through its Singapore licensee Alantic Sports, announces the inaugural City Carnage Singapore Skateboarding Competition, featuring emerging and seasoned riders from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia who will battle it out for cash prizes and the chance to compete in the City Carnage Asia Pacific Finals.
City Carnage kicks off in Singapore on June 2, 2012 and culminates in Shanghai for the City Carnage Asia Pacific Finals on June 16-17. Riders will get a chance to win prizes of more than SGD$5,000 among three different category competitions, including under 12, 13-16 year old, and Open, for the more seasoned riders.
City Carnage brings a full load of music acts and fringe activities, including live performances by renowned local bands Cesspit, Bushmen and Tiramisu who will bring their deafening sounds to the City Carnage stage. Attendees can participate in skate deck design competitions, skate freestyle circuits, try out interactive game stalls and express their creativity with airbrush tattoos and silkscreen T-shirt printing. During the event, a special screening will also be held of Project Carnage, a short film featuring two local skaters conquering Singapore’s best skate spots.
To register for the competition, skaters can print out registration forms from the City Carnage microsite and submit the completed forms together with the registration fees at Converse Orchard Central by June 1, 2012. Registered skaters will also receive an e-coupon to purchase Converse skate shoes at a discounted price.
