Trends nowadays are all about bringing history back to life. That’s just the direction Clarks is taking for their Spring Summer 2013 collection for sportswear. The Clarks Sportswear Collection, finally making its way to Singaporean shores, combines the rich shoemaking heritage with knowledge of biomechanics and advanced materials. But wrapping it all together would be the subtlety of modern construction methods for sport footwear design.
Clarks’ strongest arsenal would definitely be the use of premium leathers and a vast shoemaking heritage. So it’s no wonder that Clarks puts it into play with the Core Pack, consisting of the Tanner and Traxter styles. Tanner is inspired by the renowned Clarks Originals Desert Boot and then mixed with cutting edge sport technology. Traxter, on the other hand, launched for the 40th anniversary of the Clarks Originals Desert Trek, added with a new serrated profile for off-road traction, similar to that of shark teeth. Clarks makes use of their vegetable tan colour way then uses black as an accent for a twist to the classic design. Alternatively, the black is mainly oily nubuck with subtle tan accents. The SS13 collection truly encompasses the old and new with the Clarks craftsmanship and innovation we all know so well and love so much.
The Camo Pack features camouflage patterns bringing a fashionable military twist to modern classics like the Tanner and Tawyer styles. Using a jacquard fabric instead of a standard printed canvas, Clarks adds depth and an exclusive feel to the green and sand camo footwear.
Clarks pushes the limit with their SS13 collection by attracting interesting collaborators and coming up with fresh new kicks. Teaming up with well-known Japanese label, Atmos, the Tawyer Atmos was born. Flaunting leather print uppers, leather toebox and a blue suede trim, the Tawyer mid just stepped into the wild side, the Atmos way. Another interesting collaboration would be Clarks X Hanon, who came up with the Traxter Hanon that is made with the finest water repellant material, Ventile.
