Due to safety concerns regarding the recent coronavirus, several concerts in Malaysia have taken to announcing their postponement or cancellation on social media. Unfortunately, three out of the seven listed shows in our Live Music in Malaysia guide earlier this month have been affected by such announcements.
Of the three, legendary saxophonist Kenny G, who was set to play at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on 16 February, has since rescheduled his show to 18 October 2020. If you have made plans to cross the border in hopes of catching him in Singapore, think again as that show has also been rescheduled to October.
Likewise, K-pop sensation Seventeen’s Ode to You World Tour concert has left devastated fans in the wake of their cancellation announcement as the arena show had long been sold out prior to the unfortunate decision by the idol group. Taking to Facebook to deliver the news, promoter iMe Malaysia is offering ticket holders a full refund from TicketCharge.
Last (hopefully) but not least, the king of Mandapop has also decided to join the trend, postponing his Leap Day concert to 22 August 2020. Although that seems like lightyears away, fret not as all tickets are still valid for the August event.
Till any further news is shared, be sure to stay safe during this difficult time, and do not panic!
