On the heels of last year’s Converse x Brain Dead capsule, a graphic One Star iteration is revealed. A brand that embodies a new age approach to clothing, Brain Dead co-founder and creator Kyle Ng was immediately drawn to remix and make new Converse’s rich array of original archival prints at the start of the collaboration.
Converse’s first graphic pattern was introduced in 1983, a camouflage print applied to the Chuck Taylor All Star as the sneaker took on a second life as a lifestyle sneaker that became a global symbol of expression. A glow-in-the-dark animal print followed in 1988. The Converse x Brain Dead One Star, leverages themes and graphics from the initial capsule launched last year, which taps in to Converse’s interpretation and adoption by street and skate culture.
The bold pair focuses on a unique juxtaposition of archive Converse animal prints with simplistic polka dots on each shoe. It is further energized by Ng’s brand vision, “Brain Dead is not One Person, Nor Is It One Idea. It sits in the space between people,” which is seen on its foxing tape.
Converse X Brain Dead One Star is available from now for SGD169.90 at Ngee Ann City, Converse Boutique Store, Limited Edition Chamber and Limited Edition Vault.
