Converse has unveiled its Jack Purcell pop-up corner at Rockstar (by soon lee) with a successful launch event on 13 September 2013. Held at the new Rockstar at Orchard 22, the event hosted members of the media and guests, who were introduced to the story of Jack Purcell being a ‘Sneaker in a Shoe World’ and the latest Fall 2013 collection.
Rockstar was selected to house the Jack Purcell pop-up because it is a place where ideas come true. It possesses the essence of Jack Purcell in terms of being a purposeful individual and exploring alternative paths.
During the event, media members were presented with Jack Purcell tote bags and leather notebooks, specially handcrafted by the leather craftsmen from Banwagon – Lengfei Tok and Gareth Lee. They assisted guests in customising their leather notebooks on the spot by stamping their initials on them.
Additionally, local indie café, Habitat Coffee, set up a coffee stand at the event, serving gourmet coffee adorned with a Jack Purcell smile as the latte art. Cupcakes and macarons topped with Jack Purcell smiles and logos also complemented the launch and hyped up the storytelling of the pop-up initiative.
The Jack Purcell pop-up corner at Rockstar (Orchard 22) will last until 22 October 2013. Customers can enjoy a couple of special activities – ‘Upgrade Fridays’ and ‘Smile Like Jack’ photo contest – happening at the store.
From 13 September to 4 October, Rockstar will be running a special in-store promotion dubbed ‘Upgrade Fridays’ that will allow customers to ‘upgrade’ their formal shoes to a pair of Jack Purcell sneaker. Customers who walk in wearing their formal shoes on Fridays will get a 10% discount off a pair of Jack Purcell sneaker.
Converse will also be hosting a ‘Smile Like Jack’ photo contest from 16 to 22 September, alongside the pop-up corner at Rockstar. Customers will be encouraged to show their best rendition of the Jack Purcell smile and have their instant photos taken and pinned on a photo wall. At the end of the contest, three of most quirky grins will be selected as winners and they will be awarded with a Jack Purcell sneaker each.
The new Jack Purcell Fall 2013 collection is available at selected Converse boutiques and Rockstar with prices ranging from SGD99.90 to SGD109.90.
