Converse partners with NYC cool-girl brand, MadeMe, to reveal its inaugural premium apparel and footwear collection for females boasting a lot of attitude through daring colors, textured materials and nostalgic idiosyncrasies.
Today, youth are discovering “nostalgia” by the way of the 90s; a time in which cultural identity, bold attitudes and action resonate today. Together, Converse and MadeMe celebrate shared culture, influence and independent attitude.
Constructed to reflect the bold, distinct, fun colorways of the 90s, this classic reinvention represents the perspective of today’s modern-day cool girl. Designed by MadeMe’s founder Erin Magee, the New York “for girls, by girls” street label, this collection exudes individuality, emanates girl-power vibes and emboldens creative independence. Magee’s take on this collection celebrates countercultural style ideals and broadens the convergence of communities to a new, global audience of cool girls with an anti-hero spirit.
The collaboration is rooted in 90’s rave attitude and centric around the star graphic conceptualized on the One Star and woven throughout the apparel collection. Conceived through the lens of a 90s raver, the One Star comes to life in two packs: a reissued washed suede, and a six-wale corduroy chunky ribbed fabric, both on platform silhouettes, accented by premium Napa leather, goat leather collar and canvas lining, fastened by widened cotton laces. All styles are complemented with plain white and also additional MadeMe repeat logo lace option.
The Converse x MadeMe sneaker will be available in Vibrant Yellow, Garden Green, Medieval Blue and Black on May 25 at both Dover Street Market and Limited Edt Vault at SGD159.90
