Converse x JW Anderson delivers the Run Star Hike in black. The quintessential summer sneaker of 2019 will be available on 25 April, with remixed Chuck 70 Grid in Converse archive prints.
Looking to craft a contemporary silhouette that remixed a heritage classic, Converse and JW Anderson created the Run Star Hike: One-part Chuck, one-part Runner.
After its debut on the runway at London Fashion Week last Fall, the Run Star Hike became an instant mash-up classic. Maintaining the classic Chuck 70 upper, now releasing in Black, the sole presented Converse a challenge in engineering: how to retain integrity of individual parts and still present a strong catalyst for visceral reaction.
The result? An unapologetically bold EVA midsole from the Converse Run Star Hike finished with a rubber heel wrap and distinct Star placement. Taking cues from zig-zag lugged hiking boots, the Run Star Hike is designed with exaggerated tooling and color pops, bringing high visibility to any look.
Additionally, the brands introduce the Converse x JW Anderson Americana Chuck 70 in time for summer. The Converse x JW Anderson Grid has been a staple of the partnership since the beginning, and now returns with a graphic application derived from Converse’s recently energized archive prints. First introduced in 1991, the ‘American Flag’ is once again interpreted on a Chuck 70 canvas with Johnathan. With the JWA brand monogram grid serving as its base, the Converse graphic comes to life in a split execution for a harmonious clash of the past and future.
