New in stores is Dr Denim’s Autumn Winter 2014 collection. Inspired by the surreal landscape of Iceland and the Beat generation, the collection is titled ‘Go Astray’ and is a reflection of Icelandic landscapes, culture, and cultural movements.
These elements have been translated into colours and structures, and the collection also features all-over motifs and typographical prints. The latter takes reference from Jack Kerouac’s On The Road, one of the books that signal the beatnik era.
The revolution of the intellectual young men and women of the beatnik era started when these illuminated youth roamed America, bumming and hitchhiking. The campaign photographs stay true to this concept, with its use of earthy tones and a forested terrain.
