A collaboration between Jesse Lucas, Erwan Raguenes, Yrotyo and a French media company ‘AVoka’, DYSKOGRAF is a newly started concept to recreate the traditional gramophone of producing sounds from needle, vinyl to felt maker pen and paper.
The team behind DYSKOGRAF has created a custom designed software which functions with the camera and detect marks written on the paper records, allowing it to create an individual sound within the loop.
And yes, with just pen and paper, the creativity can never be expressed any simpler than an accidental doodles on a paper.
Check out the video below, which demonstrates how you can go from a simple sequence with four equidistant marker points on the sheet to something slightly more complex.
The numeric world is a world of binary choice. The object of DYSKOGRAF is to give room again for accidents in numeric creation, accidents that often favour creativity.
Be inspired.
