Trends may fade and pass but timeless classics have resiliently proven their ability to stand against the test of time. Proudly presenting its second collection, shoemakers ed et al strives to bring together key elements that make up the quintessential pair of shoes – quality materials, excellent construction, workmanship and classic designs.
The new Spring/Summer 2012 collection complements the first collection. While the first embraced city classics, the second collection is a more playful and whimsical take on summer shoes. Focusing on comfortable loafers and bright colours, the new collection introduces eight new designs as well as an update of the three most popular models from the first collection.
The reproduction series gives a style update, a more elegantly shaped shoe last and new colourways to The Shenton, The Merlion, and the Raffles from the first collection.
ed et al’s head in-house shoemaker and designer Edwin Neo started out with a humble background of repairing shoes. After gaining years of invaluable experience on the job, the urge to create more intensified. He took the plunge to embark on an apprenticeship in Budapest, Hungary, under the tutelage of a Master Shoemaker. After returning to Singapore, he started crafting bespoke men’s shoes for discerning customers and realised a niche market for locally-crafted quality shoes. And this instigated the birth of ed et al.
With a retail price range of SGD280-SGD350, ed et al Spring/Summer 2012 is exclusively available at Front Row (#02-09 Raffles Hotel Arcade). Custom-made shoes start from SGD600 while bespoke pairs start from SGD2,500 for the first pair (which includes bespoke shoe last).
