Have you heard of the term “Mercury is in retrograde” followed by multiple groans and sometimes even tears? When something isn’t going right – people blame Mercury. If you have been wondering why, here are the answers!
Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar System and the closest to the Sun. Because of its higher speed of travelling (or orbiting) around the Sun than Earth, at multiple times a year, Mercury appears to be moving backwards! In astrology, moving backwards has a negative implication to us earthlings.
Since Mercury is named after the Roman God of communication, all things will be lost in translation. Expect misunderstandings, wonky technology and difficult short-distance travel. Fights with loved ones, the LRT & MRT lines facing technical difficulties during peak hours, death of your laptop or phones – all because Mercury wants to moonwalk backwards!
Currently, we are in the second Mercury Retrograde of the year which will last until 12 July 2020. The final one will be a whole month-long starting 13 October – 13 November 2020. If nothing is going well for you right now, hang in there. The lucky stars will return soon.
