Started by the same folks behind the widely popular themed cafe, Gudetama Cafe Singapore, the pop-up cafe at Bugis+ is the first DreamWorks KouKou’s themed cafe in the world. Aptly named after the Chinese word 口, DreamWorks KouKou are adorable dumpling-shaped bite-sized characters.
Step into the cafe and be greeted with interiors thoughtfully designed for fans to be totally immersed in the world of their favourite DreamWorks’ animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek, and How to Train your Dragon and Trolls. From animated walls with DreamWorks KouKou characters to dome-shaped booths that are set to make you feel like you are in a film, the photo opportunities within the cafe are endless.
The Asian-inspired menu features 7 main courses, 6 sides, 5 desserts and a range of specialty drinks.
Night Fury Steak Rice (SGD18.50)
Tuck into this delish hamburg steak served with mixed vegetable and nutritious forbidden rice. Hearty and flavorful, this delectable main looks as good as it tastes!
Sides
Complementing the cafe’s launch in Singapore, local influences are woven into the menu to offer renditions of well-loved Singaporeans favourites such as the Signature K.B.P (SGD13). The steamed buns are stuffed with tender yet flavorful pork belly slices with fresh coriander, iceberg lettuce and chopped chillis.
Desserts
Don’t leave the cafe without trying its desserts! Hairlarious Princess (SGD18), a mixed berries mousse cake topped with pink candy floss and rice puffs is sure to leave you feeling as chirpy and happy as Princess Poppy.
If you plan to indulge in something sinful, Fun Sliders (SGD9) may be the dessert for you. Drizzled with peanut sauce and paired with a serving of cotton candy flavoured soft serve, the fudgy brownie smores sliders is definitely a melt-in-the-mouth experience.
