Tokyo Disney Resort® is brimming with festive vibes of its 35th anniversary celebration. Titled ‘Happiest Celebration!’, this commemorative event kicked off on 15 April 2018 with special attractions, performances and displays that will get more enchanting along the way.
As you plan your visit to Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea® during this celebratory period, here are five ways that you can fully immerse in the entire ‘Happiest Celebration!’ experience and savour every part of the merrymaking.
1. Check in to Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel
One of the best ways to relish the celebratory mood of the ‘Happiest Celebration!’ is to stay at the Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel during your visit. Not only would you feel like the celebration never ends even when you’re out of the parks, you would enjoy special programs and exclusive items designed for the anniversary.
Guest rooms and room keys at the hotel will be decorated in 35th anniversary themed designs and elements. The furniture in the rooms will feature images of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their celebratory costumes, while the amenities provided will contain limited edition anniversary designs.
2. Adorn yourself with ‘Happiest Celebration!’ merchandise
As you get consumed by the magical atmosphere at the parks, you will find special edition merchandise with designs that depict various Disney characters jumping for joy to celebrate the 35th anniversary. These items include plush badges, bow ties and fun caps. Grab one (or a few) that suits your style and be a part of this magical occasion.
Craving for a snack? Try the quirky flavoured popcorn at the parks! Some of the current flavours include curry, black pepper, caramel and milk chocolate. If you’re lucky, you will find the popcorn stand that offers the limited edition 35th anniversary popcorn bucket.
3. Hunt down Happiest Mickey Spots
A total of 35 statues of Mickey Mouse donned in special costumes are located at each themed land of Tokyo Disneyland and each themed port of Tokyo DisneySea. You can hunt down every statue with the help of the Happiest Memory Maker, which is designed for guests to enjoy the 35th anniversary celebration in an interactive way. When you are near any Happiest Mickey Spots, the device will be activated and a voice clip of Mickey Mouse will be played. What he says will depend on the location of the statue.
Additionally, the Happiest Memory Maker will be activated with the voice of other Disney characters, at various parts of the parks as a pleasant surprise for guests.
4. Feast on special 35th anniversary menu items
Get in the festive mood even while you are filling up your tummies and taking a break in the parks. At Tokyo Disneyland, you will find a 35-inch hotdog on a bun, and snack sets that include Mickey Mouse shaped bread, peach jelly and a drink. The bread contains chocolate and strawberry cream (on each of the Mickey Mouse ear), as well as cream cheese and blueberry jam. Custard cakes in adzuki and strawberry flavours that come in a souvenir case are also available.
At Tokyo DisneySea, you will find a pasta set and special cocktails amongst many other offerings, in anniversary versions.
5. Grab Chocolate Crunch as souvenirs
Who can argue against chocolates as souvenirs? An iconic sweet at Tokyo Disney Resort, Chocolate Crunch has been a popular souvenir. For the ‘Happiest Celebration!’, a new Chocolate Crunch experience has been set up where you can select a tin from a variety of 35th anniversary themed designs and fill it with different flavours of Chocolate Crunch. The shops offering this experience feature decorations, merchandise and menus that contain the concept of the Duck Family Chocolate Competition.
