On 19 April 2013, Fred Perry hosted a rocking preview party of the vinyl exhibition to celebrate Record Store Day.
The party saw a hefty turnout of 130 guests made up of music enthusiasts, producers, DJs, musicians, bands and music press. With enough Heinekens, Breezers and Red Bulls to go around and good music, the guests were kept entertained throughout the iconic day.
Commisioned by Fred Perry, #vinyloftheday and record store label Vinylicious Records curated more than 100 exclusive vinyl editions alongside all-time favourites at the Fred Perry Laurel Wreath Collection Shop, located snugly at 19 Ann Siang Road.
Thanks to Heineken, Denon, Bacardi Breezers, Red Bull and X-Mini, Record Store Day, an international day to celebrate the art of music and the culture of independently-owned record stores, made its big debut in Singapore with this special exhibition. The party also marked the last store event at Fred Perry Laurel Wreath Collection Shop’s as it plans to stop operations on 28 April and move to the heart of Orchard later this year.
