We love how GEM Bar updates everyone with its monthly music line-up comprising different DJs, exposing GEM fans to different styles of fantastic music. In the month of February, join these DJs at Special Nights.
Veteran DJs Ken Tan aka DOOMER and Escobar together with MC Kane drop only the few vinyls together with MC Kane on the mic at PRIMAL, a bi-monthly beats and bass night. Happening on Feb 7, 9.30pm at GEM Bar II.
Join the Darker Than Wax crew on Valentine’s Day as they pay tribute to the late J Dilla. The crew will be dishing choice cuts from the visionary hip-hop artist.
DJ Sivanesh Pillai will be spinning in the SELECTED night of February on the 26th, 7.30pm. Best described as a cross between the sexy house of Steve Lawler, the soulfulness of Dennis Ferrer, and the dark toughness of Carl Cox, Sivanesh has played alongside international artistes such as Ian Carey, John O’ Callaghan and Style Of Eye.
Besides House and Hip-hop music, GEM Bar has music suited for the indie palate as well. Dapper duo of Karate Sandwich, specialists on the indie alternative music circuit, will be spinning on Feb 27, 7.30pm.
If you’re not into indie music, soak up some good old bass at GEM Bar II on the 27th. One is a graduate from the 2012 FFF Girl DJ BootCamp and the other, a purveyor of all things bass, Jaydah and Rah will be flying the ATTAGIRL! flag high and show you what girl power truly is.
