Gentle Bones’ latest music video is proof that good things come to those who wait. After teasing us with what seemed like a thousand sneak peeks and a too-short teaser trailer, Joel Tan aka Gentle Bones have finally released Settle Down.
The final single from the Gentle Bones EP is about the frustrations of being in love with someone who shares the same feelings but is reluctant to show it. Featuring The Sam Willow’s Narelle Kheng as Gentle Bones’ love interest (and an expert on vanishing acts – watch the video), Settle Down follows the crooner’s office antics and sees him anxiously awaiting the moment he would have her back in his arms again.
“I’ve been taken aback by the coldness I’ve got from you// tell me is it true that I’ve been nothing at all// But I hold you tight and have a walk in that park we loved// but the conversation is dry”.
On his latest video, Joel said Settle Down was one of the easiest songs to write, and that he knew what to write almost immediately – from the lyrics to the melodies. “This was the song I wanted to keep for the end. It’s the most honest song,” he said.
Settle Down is filmed by Jasper Tan of Vadbibes, and produced, arranged, and mixed by Roland Lim of Sync Studios. We also hear the string arrangement of Josh Wei, and see Joel clad in apparels from Mr Gentleman SG.
