While digital photography is constantly reaching new heights, nothing beats holding a printed photo of a precious memory in your hands. Taking upon itself to venture onto seemingly precarious grounds, The Impossible Project has once again unleashed a new lease of evolution into instant analogue photography.
Merging digital mobile photography and the art of instant print, The Impossible Project is proud to present the Impossible Instant Lab to the photographic and digital world. One year ago, it debuted the Instant Lab project on Kickstarter, receiving a massively successful response from the community.
Now all set to launch, this revolutionary device allows you to transform your digital iPhone images into instant “Polaroid” prints and it encompasses a brand new Film Processing Unit (FPU) consisting 48 parts all packed within a compact gear system.
Known for being a silent but strong warrior in the revival of the instant analogue scene, The Impossible Project reverberates its mission to bring back the lost art of Polaroid instant analogue photography in this new creation.
Through these simple steps, the Instant Lab has been made to be operational friendly:
- Download Impossible Project application on iTunes
- Pick an image from your iPhone Camera Roll
- Run it through the iOS Instant Lab Application
- Place your iPhone face down onto the Instant Lab
- Expose and close the shutter through the flash signal on your iPhone
- Eject and watch as your image develops
The Impossible Project has also created a new line of films to be used together with the Instant Lab. Called the Impossible IPX, this film series is available in both colour and monochrome.
With the Instant Lab, The IMPOSSIBLE Project has successfully bridged the gap between instant analogue photography with the digital world, allowing photography enthusiasts and the everyday folks a chance to have their mobile phone images turned into an instant print.
In a lead up to its official launch in Singapore in November 2013, Peek!, The Impossible Project Partner Store in Singapore, has started a preview and pre-order campaign for the Impossible Instant Lab. The public can now touch and feel the Instant Lab in its physical form and for a limited time, they can purchase a single frame Impossible Project PX film (SGD5.50) and convert any of their digital photos in their iPhone into an instant print. Enthusiasts of the alternative photography scene can also pre-order the Instant Lab and be one of the first few to own it before its official launch.
