“I was walking across a bridge and thought, I wish I could reach down and pick up a piece of the water surface…” said New York-bon artist, Sophia Collier. It is this quote, and the desire to capture the spirit of an aquatic realm that inspired HLS DSGN’s Fall/Holiday 2014 collection.
HLS DSGN (pronounced HLS Design) is the sister brand of Headline Seoul (HLS), and they’ve just launched their latest collection in Singapore. Its sartorially precise, Seoul-styled wardrobe essentials first made waves in 2013, and has now become a label coveted by lovers of clean aesthetics, feminine cuts, and timeless apparel.
The Fall/Holiday collection includes key looks like body-skimming silhouettes, drop-waist dresses, and the new under-cut colour blocking. Following Collier’s quote, HLS DSGN created an aquatic realm immersed in a lyrical colour palette, dreamy waterworld-inspired shapes and wave-like swishes. You’ll see this influence in the colours features, which includes azuline, azure, and aquamarine.
Exclusive to HLS DSGN, a collection of innovative necklaces made of EVA foam is available for grabs. Thai designer Ek Thongprasert of CURATED has teamed up with the label to produce this, and it is an eye-popping accessory that will add vibrance to any wardrobe.
