Illumi Nation is about a week away, and to gear you up for what looks to be an epic glow-in-the-dark party, we’ve interviewed Made in June. The headlining DJ has been dubbed the 1st Lady of Party Hard, and is considered to be one of Amsterdam’s finest. Get to know her better in this quick chat we had with her!
I’m performing at Illumi Nation! I’m most looking forward to… Meeting the audience! Feeling their vibe and giving them all I’ve got!
I chose Made in June as a stage name because… My name is June, my parents made me in June (9 months before my birth date in March), and I make my own music so it’s all ‘Made in June’.
My most meaningful track so far would be… You and I, this first release became a Dance Smash on Holland’s biggest radio station 538. The record was soon available in several countries besides Europe, like Scandinavia, Asia and now hopefully, USA.
The first dance track I heard and got hooked on was… Moloko – The Time Is Now
If I had to listen to an album for the rest of my life, I would pick… Zero 7 – When It Falls (feat. SIA)
I would love to collaborate with… AVICII!
Illumi Nation is happening 11 October 2014, 6pm-3am, at Siloso Beach Sentosa (36 Siloso Beach Walk). Joining Made in June are Dada Life, Bingo Players, and Singapore-based DJ Stas & Mathias Schell of Rave Republic.
