We’re familiar with a typical Tokyobike ride – simple, clean and fuss-free – made fit for an easy urban commute. Have you imagine though, what’s it like to engage the bike in an exploratory mode?
Artist Luthfi (or more notoriously known as The Killer Gerbil) and bike aficionado Minzi teamed up to construct a bike inspired by their dream of bike touring, in hopes of urging others to tour and explore the world on a Tokyobike.
The end product, dubbed Isle of Man, is a stock Tokyobike CS model (8 speed) in white with both front and rear rack installed, equipped with Brooks Brick Lane Roll Up Panniers, Brooks Isle Of Skye Handlebar bag, Brooks Glenbrook Saddle Holdall bag and a pair of silver water bottle holder. Minzi’s very own rain jacket is placed at the front rack for an extra personal touch.
This custom Tokyobike is on display at the Tokyobike store (38 Haji Lane) while the hands-on duo explore other possibilities of a different set up for future showcase.
