Constantly looking to challenge the labels attached to the Undercover brand, founding designer Jun Takahashi applied elements from his Fall 2018 collection “Order/Disorder” onto the canvas of the Converse Chuck 70.
Converse x Undercover explores the dichotomy that exists between Takahashi’s designs while harnessing the versatility of the iconic Converse silhouette. As a brand that straddles the street and the runway, Takahashi reinterpreted the Chuck 70 to create contradiction and elicit the notion of reflection and tension.
Having debuted during Pitti Uomo in January, the collection takes a dystopian approach to contrast through its application of materials and colors. It features four distinct colorways—Black, White, Racing Red and Buttercup—on vintage canvas. The words “ORDER” and “DISORDER” are printed on the silhouette’s high-gloss toe box, with matching colors on the contrasting toe bumpers.
Each pair also features silver hardware, co-branded sock liners and tonal laces for a sleek expression.
The Converse x Undercover collection drops on September 25 at END Clothing at SGD145 and, Dover Street Market & Club 21 at SGD180.
