What better way to celebrate ‘singledom’ than to go solo on an overseas adventure?
This Singles’ Day, Jetstar is offering 111,111 seats on sale from now to 18 November, in response to insights from 1,001 passengers who shared their feelings on travelling solo.
Of the 1,001 surveyed, 49% have been on personal solo trips at least four times in their lives (we made it clear that business trips did not count!), making solo travel more common than you would think.
Vicky Wang, Regional Marketing Manager, Jetstar Asia said it was only in recent years that singledom had become something to really celebrate, and this was especially so on Singles’ Day.
“Here in Singapore, we’ve observed an increase in our customer’s appetite for travelling solo, and so we wanted to understand the reasons why many consumers are making this choice so willingly,” Ms Wang said.
“Interestingly, our survey demonstrates a clear link between solo travel and the feeling of being refreshed and recharged – we want to share the benefits of solo travel and encourage those who wouldn’t normally try it, to take the plunge!”
There is a common assumption that people travelling solo do so because they don’t have anyone to travel with, but that’s not the case. Fifty-five percent of solo travellers do so out of personal choice and forty-four per cent of travellers felt comfortable travelling without their partners.
Regardless of the reason, more than half (59%) of these solo travellers said they felt more refreshed than if they travelled with friends and family. There’s something to be said about the feeling of absolute freedom on solo trips. In fact, whether they have been on solo trips or not, 61% said they associated the idea of such trips with feeling free.
So, whether you’re a solo travel virgin, or a serial solo adventurer, now’s as good a time as any to go on a solo adventure. To make the most of Jetstar’s Singles’ Day Sale, visit https://www.jetstar.com/sg/en/deals and kickstart your trip!
