American mega-actor, filmmaker, singer and entrepreneur is calling for Malaysians to be a part of his upcoming Netflix movie, Project Power. Yes, you read that right!
There are three different creative projects that needs a Malaysian input. The first is for a song and music video inspired by the upcoming movie Project Power. He calls for “musicians, singers, rappers and artists of all kinds to help create a song”. The rap-cypher will have to answer to the question, “What is your power?”.
Next, the actor in search for those with an affinity for writing! In a photo caption challenge, he asked for Malaysian writers to give a one-line story of what an astronaut is thinking about while sitting in a retro living room all alone. If you are not a master in the English language, fret not because you can join the contest in Malay as well!
That’s not all, the final piece in this trilogy is for anyone who speaks the Malay language, anyone at all! All you have to do is record yourself saying “puisi” (translation: poetry) and you’re good to go!
In collaboration with Netflix and Gordon-Levitt’s HitRecord, the project will result in a song and a music video, as well as 6 social ‘Power’ stories to be released on HitRecord’s social media platforms.
Project Power will be out on Netflix globally on 14 August 2020. It tells a tale of an ex-soldier, a cop and a teenager looking for the source of a new drug that gives people superpowers for 5 minutes. Other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt, it stars Jamie Foxx, Dominique Fishback and Machine Gun Kelly!
